1st Look: Week 9 Quarterback Ranks

Posted by in 1st Look,Fantasy Advice,Quarterbacks,Rank on Nov 1st 2011 and last modified on Nov 2nd 2011. (Print This)

Brees didn't perform as expected in last weeks upset special.  The match up was perfect and the Saints offense was rolling.  It just drives home the fact that anything can happen any given week.  I expect a nice bounce back performance for Brees against Tampa.  He's the type of player that responds well after having a serving of humble pie.  I have Eli ranked #3 this week, and I wanted to put him higher.  The Patriots secondary has been horrible and the Giants passing offense is better than most think.  Vick had a very good showing against the Cowboys on Sunday night.  The Eagles offense could be extremely explosive in the second half of the season. Matt Ryan has a very favorable match up against a poor Colts defense.  R.White and J.Jones should be healthy and ready to... read more

Week 8 QB Ranks

Posted by in Fantasy Advice on Oct 29th 2011 (Print This)

Week 8 marks the half way point of the season.  As expected we are starting to see significant separation between the quarterback tiers.  It all depends on your scoring format, but the first tier quarterbacks are averaging roughly 10-15 more points per game than the second tier.  We can expect this trend to continue going forward.  Speaking of the first tier quarterbacks; Drew Brees should put on a clinic vs. the lowly Rams... Super Rookie Cam Newton will take some shots from Jared Allen and the rest of the Vikings pass rush, but they rank 29th against the pass.  Expect Newton to have another solid all around outing...  I'm never worried about Tom Brady and the Patriots offense, but a week off can sometimes disrupt an offenses rhythm.  It will be important for Brady to have some early success to help him... read more

Brees went off Sunday night throwing for 325 yards and 5 TDs.  What I found impressive was his 88% completion percentage.  He might not throw 5 touch downs against the Rams, but we can expect a 30 point outing.   Newton comes in at #2 this week.  The Vikings pass rush will get to him, but they rank 29th against the pass.  Expect another solid outing for the rookie.   I really like Roethlisberger this week.  My only concern is the Patriots are coming off a bye, and two weeks to prepare usually stacks the chips in Belichicks favor. Stafford is banged up and coming off his worst outing of the season.  It's the first time he failed to reach the 200 yard mark.  The Lions have a nice match up vs the Broncos, but I wonder how effective he... read more

Fantasy Football Brother's looks at the Week 7 Rankings for the Quarterback position. Like we said earlier the position is in a state of flux with all the new starter's across the league. While we think it's crazy that the Raider's are probably going to start Carson Palmer, let's remember that he is a better option than Kyle Boller for the Silver and Black. We also mentioned in First Look that Tim Tebow makes his much anticipated start for the Denver Broncos. I'm sure all of Florida and most of America will be tuning in to see how he does. It should be interesting. We here at FFB wish him the best! Remember it's bye weeks for the following quarterbacks, so if you have them, and you haven't adjusted your roster accordingly, please do so: Ryan Fitzpatrick, Andy Dalton, Tom Brady, Eli Manning, Michael... read more

(1ST LOOK is available only to Brotherhood All-Access Members.) Every Tuesday the Brotherhood takes a 1ST Look at this weeks upcoming ranks. Even though these ranks are not set in stone it is always good idea to start planning ahead.  On Friday we will post our our final ranks for Week 7. The quarterback position is in a state of flux right now in the NFL. There hasn't been this much turnover since the days that Steve Slaton and Ahman Green were full time backs in the NFL. Carson Palmer out of retirement to the Raiders? Kyle Boller keeping his seat warm in the meantime? Christian Ponder in for the Vikings? John Beck in for the Redskins? Matt Moore sucking it up for the Dolphins? Tim Tebow in for the Broncos? We are secretly rooting for Tebow to succeed in the NFL...though I guess it's no secret since I... read more

Week 6 QB Ranks

Posted by in Quarterbacks,Ranks on Oct 15th 2011 (Print This)

Fantasy Football Brother's takes a look at the quarterback postion for Week 6. Remember if you have Kevin Kolb, Tim Tebow, Matt Cassel, Philip Rivers, Charlie Whitehurst, and Matt Hasselbeck you are not starting them as they are on bye weeks. WOW! Not like you would start any of those guys with the exception of Rivers and Hasselbeck. Aaron Rodgers finds himself in the top spot again this week. He should absolutely shred the Rams defense at Lambeau Field. Though the Rams are currently the 6th ranked defense against the pass, they have just 8 sacks on the season. That is not enough pressure on Rodgers to force him into bad decisions. We see a big week from Rodgers. Here are the Week 6 Rankings: 1) Aaron Rodgers - GRE - QB, vs. St. Louis Rams, Sun 1:00 PM 2) Drew Brees - NOR - QB, at Tampa Bay... read more

First Look: Week 6 QB Ranks

Posted by in 1st Look,Rank on Oct 11th 2011 (Print This)

Fantasy Football Brother's offers up our First Look Quarterback Ranks for Week 6 in the NFL. Again this is only available to our subscribers, so if you want a head start, what are you waiting for? Quarterbacks continue to sling the ball at a record pace and until defenses can catch up, it's open season on cornerbacks and safeties. The name of the game is spread 'em out and find mismatches across the field. Some quarterbacks such as Brady, Rodgers and Brees are already master's, others' like Stafford and Fitzpatrick are learning and are quick studies. Then there are the ones who haven't shown much growth, think Sam Bradford and Josh Freeman who continue to disappoint fantasy owner's. The rookie quarterbacks have shown more than what we thought they would give this season. Cam Newton looks great, Andy Dalton isn't far behind, and Blaine Gabbert has flashed potential on... read more

Week 4: Quarterback Ranks

Posted by in Fantasy Advice,Quarterbacks,Ranks on Sep 30th 2011 and last modified on Oct 1st 2011. (Print This)

Fantasy Football Brother's takes a peek at the quarterbacks for Week 4. The Patriots' Tom Brady continues to put up eye-popping numbers and there was a discussion around the round table today. It involved the question, "Is Tom Brady the best ever?" When you sit and watch Brady, are we watching the best NFL player ever? As you sit there with your kid watching the game, are you telling him/her that he is the greatest player or quarterback ever to play the game? We ultimately came to the decision that he is.... If you are a Philip Rivers owner is it time to panic? Why do I always seem to get him in a down year is the question we were asked by some. Rivers' owners' shouldn't panic, it could be worse, you could make a trade for Eli Manning and give... read more

Week 3: QB Ranks

Rain, Snow or Shine! You can always count on Brady.

I know I'm beating a dead horse, but the quarterback position is as deep as it's ever been.  Legitimate fantasy starters are emerging from teams we thought wouldn't have a chance to produce them.  Rex Grossman, Cam Newton and Ryan Fitzpatrick are putting up solid numbers despite going undrafted in most formats.  Sure this could all change as soon as defenses catch up to the offenses and we see less blown coverages, but that hasn't happened yet. Teams are throwing more than ever, and that trend will continue.  As long as it does most owners won't have to worry about finding a top notch fantasy signal caller.  They'll simply pluck one from the waiver wire when the match up is right. It's the reason I wasn't sold on taking one in the first round. ... read more
