In case you haven't heard the NFL combine kicks off this week. All eyes will be tuned into the annual event that is quickly becoming must see t.v.. In fact the NFL has given out more than 620 media credentials and the NFL network has reportedly sent 21 employees to cover the event. Wow! That’s a lot of media personnel considering the players themselves won’t even be wearing pads. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of the combine and an even bigger fan of the NFL draft. I have watched every draft since I was 12 years old. I gush over forty times and love sitting down with the other Brotherhood writers evaluating players and breaking down game film. I know it does not matter what round these players get selected, the important part... read more

Fantasy Football Brothers conducted their latest fantasy mock draft on Tuesday night. With the season flying up on us I'd thought I'd breakdown our latest F.F.B. Mock Draft, with Trends, Best Picks, and Suspect Picks. In the middle of the draft we have our draft board that breaks down each owners' picks and the commentary resumes after. This league being a half a Point Per Reception league so Wide Receivers taken early and often throughout the draft. Add in the fact that each team must start 3 Wide Receivers and 1 TE, led to this being a WR heavy draft, and teams sleeping on Tight Ends once the top 5 were all selected. Owners also had a tough time knowing which Running Back was getting what job, and how many carries, so far fewer Rbs were taken during the draft, and there were barely any fliers taken. Here's the League Scoring and Roster... read more

As crazy football fanatics like ourselves prepare to analyze how the draft has changed team dynamics and which off-season moves had the most impact, you should be thinking about the big day! Let the chumps in your league frantically scramble for their cheat-sheets on draft day while you sit back and enjoy your frosty beverage. Now is the time to think about your top 5 picks, your sleepers, and that one guy that you want to gamble on for the upcoming season. We all know guys are poor planners by nature, so let's keep this simple and stupid. Preparation for draft day is crucial!! Like a good poker game, you need to come prepared mentally or you can kiss that money goodbye! Here are the best preparation techniques that I can recommend as we approach draft day. First, what kind of beer are you bringing to the draft? Be... read more

On Saturday we will all be sitting down to see who the future of our hometown franchise will be. But for those whom are addicted to Fantasy Football we will have an ulterior motive. As Fantasy GM’s we will all be waiting to see where the premier talent of this years draft land, and in turn how that will effect the fantasy game. As fantasy fans there are "Dream" situations for players to fall into, and "Nightmare" scenarios that would just lead to more fantasy confusion. Here is a quick look of where some of the elite skill position players could be drafted, and how that effects their fantasy value in 09. RUNNING BACKS The Running Back by Committee has taken over the NFL and in turn, has forced Fantasy Owners to take a different perspective on the position. Though the RBBC infection has contributed to the near extinction of the true... read more

The 2009 NFL Draft is full of questions, what draft isn't, and many of these players will not be the answers teams are searching for. I'm sure we can all list our fair share of busts. Some of this year's questions are: Is Mark Sanchez a top QB? Why didn't Brandon Spikes declare? Is Michael Crabtree the real deal or just another big, slow receiver. ( Think J.J. Stokes, Mike Williams, Dwayne Jarrett, etc.) These are just a few of many questions as we head into the 2009 draft. 1.) Detroit-Andre Smith, OT, Alabama-Smith is a once in a decade lineman, an Ogden, a Pace, a nice building block for a team in rebuilding mode. A good fit with a young back like Kevin Smith. Quarterback can wait another year or later in the draft, no one said rebuilding is pretty. 2.) St. Louis-Eugene Monroe, OT, Virginia-Pace is near the end of... read more
