Fantasy Football Brothers Free Draft Kit roll out continues today with our RB ranks and writeups. We have been constantly adding and removing players. We are constantly making changes to our ranks as things are literally minute to minute at the running back position. As you have heard us say before there is plenty of talent at RB. Yes the days of 3 down backs are disappearing. They are becoming endangered species. That doesn't mean there isn't plenty of talent available throughout the draft but the lack of quality starting backs are a little thinner than expected.   The free draft kit rolls on. In fantasy football, knowledge is power.  So today Fantasy Football Brothers will drop a little knowledge on you.  This is a handcuff chart, but this list also serves as an up to date depth chart as things stand right now.  The NFL has only played one exhibition game so far, so rosters are still shaking out.  Who ever you end up drafting you need to know who is next in line for carries.  There are some teams that have clear cut backups, other teams have their depth chart constantly in flux. The NFL  playoffs are always very hard to predict how each team will fare and then to use that formula of figuring out how the playoffs will unfold has a gigantic impact on these ranks. Last year we ranked Pierre Thomas the number one back for these ranks and people here even questioned the logic, but it turns out he was the best since the Saints made it to the Super Bowl. The key to drafting a successful Playoff team is to first figure out who you think we will win each game. Then look at those teams and decide which players are fantasy relevant. A top 200 ranking is an essential tool that every fantasy owner should use to help dominate their draft.  It helps owners gauge a players overall value instead of his positional value.  As usual, we went a little bit deeper and ranked the top 240 players.  We feel it was important to rank every player that could become relevant at some point during the season.  I left out defenses and kickers because my colleague Rob has already covered them extensively in his positional write ups.  We will continue to update these rankings as the season approaches. With the Wild Card weekend behind us we rock on to the  Divisional playoff weekend. The weekend was filled with some painful games to watch if you are a Patriots,Bengals or Eagles fan. The best game of the weekend and of the entire season for that matter was the crazy game between the Packers and Cardinals. The game was a shootout from the beginning with the Packers overcoming a 17 point deficit and bringing the game into overtime with a fluke fumble returned by the Cardinals defense for a touchdown that ended the game. The game saw 96 total points scored 1,024 total yards between both teams and 9 total touchdowns thrown.  This weekend the Cardinals head to the Superdome in New Orleans in a game that... read more

Fantasy Football Brothers has shifted gears to focus on the NFL Playoffs. Many fantasy owners are somewhat new to the Playoff Leagues, but it is something that is challenging and keeps the fantasy season going for those of you that missed out on a championship. As my colleague stated in an earlier post, "It let's me watch an NFL game knowing I have that player in my starting lineup." These ranking are in depth and they provide for the leagues that do select backups at their respected positions.  Fantasy Football Brothers takes a look at the Running Back rankings for 2009 Playoff Leagues and these rankings are done by a last man standing type rules. When Fantasy Football Brothers first started out on our maiden voyage we discussed that we would never tell anyone what to do with their fantasy squad. Fast forward a couple of years and we have basically become fantasy consultants. While we weren't headed in that direction, it is who, and what we have become, and there is nothing more enjoyable than getting emails back from excited owners who say we helped win their game for them. So getting back to my original point we also discussed that we would never tell owner's that they should drop someone, because it is too risky on our part. What if we told a fantasy owner to drop a player and they blew up? We would have to deal with not only letting our reader down, but potentially costing them a championship.
