Fantasy Football Brothers takes a 1ST LOOK at the RBs heading into week 4. There is growing concern around the quagmire that is the Panthers backfield and the Packers backfield as well. The Panthers backs are playing like second stringers instead of 1A and 1B. Owners are wise to take a wait and see approach. They are too valuable to cut and aren't worth nearly what they were heading into week 1. The Packers have gone from trying to get RB James Starks more involved to now saying they need to get Ryan Grant more involved. What to believe? They are entering the Patriots zone. When the season started, we knew there were only a few elite backs that would be available to draft. We also knew there were more than a few committees that would be strong enough to start as solid RB2/Flex plays. The RB position was deep if things played out as expected. Of course we know that nothing ever happens the way it is supposed to. Just ask RB Mark Ingram owners. Fast foward to the beginning of week 3. Every Tuesday the Brotherhood takes a 1ST LOOK at the upcoming weeks RB ranks. RB Jamaal Charles was lost for the year leaving a huge question for fantasy owners and the Chiefs. RB Thomas Jones is the obvious answer, but is he the long term answer? We think not. Look for a combination of Jones, Dexter McCluster and even a little Jackie Battle. Let's not forget about FB Le'Ron McClain who could even find himself in the carry equation at some point. The situation in K.C. screams stay away. They have the look of being a very bad team. Arian Foster’s hamstring injury is a concern but the bigger question is who should you draft as his backup. Derek Ward and second year back Ben Tate have been battling back and forth for the handcuff role. Ward might be the better back but the Texans have a bigger investment in Tate. The jury is still out on what type of season MJD will have since we haven’t had much time to evaluate him. We are constantly making changes to our ranks as things are literally minute to minute at the running back position. As you have heard us say before there is plenty of talent at RB. Yes the days of 3 down backs are disappearing. They are becoming endangered species.   The free draft kit rolls on. In fantasy football, knowledge is power.  So today Fantasy Football Brothers will drop a little knowledge on you.  This is a handcuff chart, but this list also serves as an up to date depth chart as things stand right now.  The NFL has only played one exhibition game so far, so rosters are still shaking out.  Who ever you end up drafting you need to know who is next in line for carries.  There are some teams that have clear cut backups, other teams have their depth chart constantly in flux.
