Wide Receiver value is being drastically effected by the injuries and inefficiencies at the quarterback position. With Matt Cassel in question, Dwayne Bowe becomes a shaky play  vs. the Rams. Without Cassel under-center, expect the Chiefs to grind it out on the ground. Kyle Orton looks to be a scratch vs. the Raiders. He's been the worst QB in football over the past two weeks. Brandon Lloyd, Eddie Royal and Jabar Gaffney remain risky starts. Tampa's secondary is vulnerable. If Shaun Hill is able to start, it'll bode well for Megatron. Wes Welker jumps into the Top-10 for the first time in months. He's adjusted well to the change in offensive scheme. Brady peppers around his targets, but Welker's production will remain consistent. Greg Jennings, James Jones and Donald Driver... read more

Week 15: Player Projections (Playoff Edition)

Posted by in Projections on Dec 16th 2010 and last modified on Dec 18th 2010. (Print This)

Week 14 has come and gone and for many of us it was an extreme disappointment. The fact that Jay Feely, a kicker, a kicker for Pete's sake outscored Aaron Rodgers and Adrian Peterson combined is a complete travesty. It was another weird chapter in the NFL Season, but in fantasy terms it stayed true to the story that has played out all year. What do I mean you ask? I mean if you had a lineup of Aaron Rodgers, Adrian Peterson, Arian Foster, Greg Jennings, Brandon Lloyd, Jacob Tamme, Mason Crosby, and any defense, you probably lost out to a chump that had Jason Campbell, Tim Hightower, Ryan Torain, Santana Moss, Derrick Mason, Jason Witten, Jay Feely, and any defense. It was that type of week and it's one I would like to forget. Unfortunately, I can't. I can't stand the fact... read more

1st Look: Week 15 WR Ranks

Posted by in 1st Look,Rank on Dec 15th 2010 and last modified on Dec 16th 2010. (Print This)

Andre Johnson is showing why he was the No. 1 receiver off the board. The opportunity to to perform against Cortland Finnegan will have him motivated. Hakeem Nicks at the four spot may be a lil generous, but his jump back into fantasy relevance  impressive. With teammate Steve Smith potentially done for the season and Mario Manningham dinged up, Nicks should dominate Eli's aerial focus. Even if Asante returns, Nicks should perform. After a slow start, Marques Colston is playing his best ball of the season. The Saints are very quietly the best team in the NFC. Tom Brady's amazing play is pushing Wes Welker and Deion Branch significantly up the charts. Welker has adjusted well to "life after Moss". He's virtually uncover-able. The Patriots have turned into a team that is virtually impossible to game-scheme against. Greg Jennings' is as if Aaron Rodgers is playing.... read more

1) Michael Bush - OAK - RB, at Jacksonville Jaguars, Sun 1:00 PM If he's somehow out there - GO GET HIM! The Raiders have been quite labile this season, but it's clear that the team's success rides on their ground game. Bush looked very strong vs. the Bolts last week. He's pulled even with the Dark Knight and has turned the Raider back-field into a legitimate time-share.   2) Tashard Choice - DAL - RB, vs. Philadelphia Eagles, Sun 8:20 PM This week's match-up with Philly will pose some problems. That being said, with Washington and Arizona on the playoff schedule, it's hard to pass on Choice. With the added weight, Felix Jones looks like he's lost a step. Marion Barber has been even less effective. With DezBryant on the sidelines, look for the Cowboys to be more reliant on the run. Choice has the skill set to run between-the-tackles,... read more

1st Look: Week 14 WR Ranks

Posted by in 1st Look,Rank on Dec 7th 2010 and last modified on Dec 8th 2010. (Print This)

Greg Jennings is our headliner this week as most of us enter the playoffs. He should have his way with a Detroit secondary. Reggie Wayne is coming off his best game of the year. He single handily gave Indy a chance vs. Dallas. Peyton Manning's woes will only help out the superstar WR as the Colts are being forced to throw more than ever as they find themselves in tight match-ups or playing from behind. We're high on both Eagle WRs this week. Although Dallas' secondary has improved, we think that they'll be no match for the speed of Philly's offense. Both Dwayne Bowe and Brandon Lloyd disappeared in Week 13. Expect them both to bounce back. It will be interesting to see how Head Coach Josh McDaniels' firing will effect the Bronco offense, but a... read more

Week 8 WR Ranks & Writeups

Posted by in Ranks,Wide Receivers on Oct 29th 2010 and last modified on Oct 30th 2010. (Print This)

1) Andre Johnson - HOU - WR, at Indianapolis Colts, Mon 8:30 PM - When healthy, there is no one who is better. Indy has numerous injuries, but Peyton will push for a shootout. Both these defenses will allow points to be scored. 2) Reggie Wayne - IND - WR, vs. Houston Texans, Mon 8:30 PM - Wayne will reap the benefits of Collie, Clark and Addai's absence. Peyton will go back to "Old Faithful". 3) Calvin Johnson - DET - WR, vs. Washington Redskins, Sun 1:00 PM - Matt Stafford's return will boost Johnson's stats. Shaun Hill relied too heavily on his TEs. Stafford will target his WR1 all day long. Washington loves to give up fantasy stats to opposing WRs. 4) Brandon Marshall - MIA - WR, at Cincinnati Bengals, Sun 1:00 PM - We've seen glimpses... read more

Week 8: Player Projections

Posted by in Projections on Oct 28th 2010 and last modified on Oct 29th 2010. (Print This)

The Week 8 Player Projections are here! I know they're late and I was reminded of that by our esteemed leader Bill Sherman. The truth lies somewhere in between that I lost data due to operator error (Thanks Eric) and the fact that I have been wrapped up in college football lately. My sincere apologies. Fantasy Football Brother's rolls on and as we take a look at the Week 8 Player Projections there are some noticeable names missing due to injury. Here's looking at you Dallas Clark, Joseph Addai, Malcom Floyd and Tony Romo (who according to Roy Williams, Jon Kitna is just as good as Romo) We'll see about that. Week 7 brought us more parity, though we can just call it a competitive balance. What has happened to the New Orleans Saints? They got manhandled by Cleveland last week, maybe Eric Mangini read Bill's... read more

1st Look: Week 8 WR Ranks

Posted by in 1st Look,Rank on Oct 26th 2010 and last modified on Oct 28th 2010. (Print This)

It's the season's first 6 team bye week. As the rank loses some top performers, many return after a much needed weeks rest. Andre Johnson, Reggie Wayne and Calvin Johnson come off the bye to hold the top 3 spots. Greg Jennings will face a healthy Darrelle Revis in coverage - His rank may fall by Friday. Dwayne Bowe continues to impress. Coming off of two straight 2 TD performances, it's hard to imagine him cooling off in a favorable match-up vs. the Bills. Speaking of favorable, Santana Moss should produce solid stats vs. the Lions and, despite the injury to Tony Romo, look for the Dallas trio to put up plenty of points vs. the charitable Jags secondary. Pierre Garcon makes a huge jump and should be a solid play moving forward. With the Colts experiencing numerous key injuries... read more

Week 7 WR Ranks

With numerous superstars sitting out due to the bye, and an array of injuries, the mid-season scrapping is in full effect. But with injury comes opportunity. Looking for a WR3? Patrick Crayton, Jabar Gaffney and Jason Avant should all see an increase in targets this week with injuries to teammates.  Mike Williams of Seattle and Deion Branch both made out in the Pats acquisition of their former star. With the lack of talent at WR in Seattle, Williams should see a solid number of targets going forward. Meanwhile, Deion Branch appears to be back in Superbowl MVP mode. His ability to step right into the lineup won a tough fought game for New England. Brady showed extreme confidence in his new, yet old toy. Riding the Hot Hand: Terrell Owens, Jeremy Maclin and Michael Crabtree should all continue... read more

Week 7: Player Projections

The Brotherhood takes a look at the Week 7 Projections. Hopefully everyone is taking advantage of the Eight Ball to make those hard to decide lineup questions, on top of asking the Brother's any questions you might have concerning fantasy football The injury bug has taken a bite out of fantasy rosters in Week 7 and this is where solid roster depth comes into play. We might have to rethink that whole depth doesn't win fantasy championships after this week. The defensive players have been hit hard by fines due to concussions and certain players such as the Steeler's James Harrison are said to be mulling retirement. While we don't buy into that, defensive guys have come out and said they won't change the way they play and will deal with the fines brought down by the NFL. The NFL is going to act like they care in... read more
