When Fantasy Football Brothers first started out on our maiden voyage we discussed that we would never tell anyone what to do with their fantasy squad. Fast forward a couple of years and we have basically become fantasy consultants. While we weren't headed in that direction, it is who, and what we have become, and there is nothing more enjoyable than getting emails back from excited owners who say we helped win their game for them. So getting back to my original point we also discussed that we would never tell owner's that they should drop someone, because it is too risky on our part. What if we told a fantasy owner to drop a player and they blew up? We would have to deal with not only letting our reader down, but potentially costing them a championship. It is time we make a change and that is exactly what this article is about. It also comes with a warning though,... read more

Kevin Smith Playing On Sunday Surprised Many Owners Around The League

Every Monday and Tuesday Fantasy Football Brothers takes a 1ST LOOK around the NFL where we provide instant analysis of what it all means to you in fantasy nation. We take a 1ST LOOK at RB ranks. Week five means four more teams are on a bye Chicago,Green Bay,New Orleans, and San Diego. With the Forte's,Grant's, and L.D.T.'s all out of action in week 5. This weeks top 40 has a completely different look to it. Adrian Peterson will enjoy an easy match up with the Rams after getting pounded by the Packers last night. RB Jerome Harrison played great in place of Jamal Lewis, and has what appears to be a great match up this week against Buffalo (allowing 150.5 rushing yards per game) RB Clinton Portis has been so up and down this year. Portis entered Sunday's game as a 50-50 proposition to play due to injury and rushes... read more

This week the focus will be on Matt Forte and Steve Slaton.  Two first round backs who have yet to live up to the lofty expectations that so many of us had when we drafted them.  This will be a true test to see what we can expect going forward.  Another couple of backs that we're curious about are Clinton Portis and rookie Glenn Coffee.  Portis has showed very little so far this year and needs to prove he can still do it against a weak Tampa defense.  Coffee on the other hand represents youth and excitement.  We expect his coming out party this week against the  defensively challenged Rams. 3 Weeks 6 Touchdowns? Did you see that coming?

FantasyFootballBrothers unleashes our 1ST LOOK at the Week 4 RB Ranks. The Bye weeks are upon us, and that means for the next 3 months fantasy teams will have to mix and match spare parts at every position. Arizona,Atlanta,Carolina, and Philidelphia have byes this week, and with that goes 7 of our Top 45 RB's. Add in the injury of RB Frank Gore, and the Top 10 has completely transformed from the start of the season. Our final ranks will be out Friday afternoon, and the injury concerns will be addressed after a few days of practice. 1) Adrian Peterson - MIN - RB 2) Maurice Jones-Drew - JAC - RB 3) Chris Johnson - TEN - RB 4) Matt Forte - CHI - RB 5) Cedric Benson - CIN - RB 6) Ronnie Brown - MIA - RB 7) Brandon Jacobs - NYG... read more

Fantasy Football Brothers prepares you for week 3. Running games across the NFL have suprisingly struggled in the early part of this season. Teams that have predicated their success around a strong run game have been forced to all but abandon the run, and go to the air. The Bears,Giants, Falcons, and Steelers all teams that were very successful last year running the ball, have seen a dramatic difference this year. Opposing defenses have sold out to stop the run, and the run blocking for all of the above teams has gone from above average to down right hideous. These teams long term success hinges on having a strong run game. Look for all of these teams to continue to try and run the ball. Because if not this will be a very long season for fantasy owners, and the fans of those teams. 1) Adrian Peterson - MIN - RB A.P. was shut down with only 92 yards... read more

Fantasy Football Brothers 1st look at the early RB ranks. Some of the higher drafted RB's look to rebound from a poor start. RB's Matt Forte has been a bust so far but Forte has a chance to rebound against a team RB Frank Gore shredded for over 200 yards on Sunday. RB Pierre Thomas looks like he might finally be healthy, add in the fact that RB Mike Bell looks like he will be unavailable Thomas has a chance to take his starting job back. RB's Brandon Jacobs, and Steve Slaton are two other backs that have yet to get going concerning fantasy owners everywhere, both have showed little so far to reinstill faith into their owners. We will be back friday with our final ranks. 1) Adrian Peterson - MIN - RB 2) Maurice Jones-Drew - JAC - RB 3) Matt Forte - CHI - RB 4) Chris Johnson - TEN -... read more

Week 2 Running Back Ranks

Posted by in Fantasy Advice,Running Backs on Sep 18th 2009 and last modified on Sep 19th 2009. (Print This)

1) Adrian Peterson - MIN - RB A very tasty match up against the lowly Lions. A.P. owners rejoice 2) Maurice Jones-Drew - JAC - RB M.J.D. was very productive against the Colts last week expect a bunch of touches against the Cards this week. 3) Michael Turner - ATL - RB Turner was shut down last week, despite the large amounts of carries. The Falcons will not abandon the run so look for Turner to continue to get a heavy workload against the Panthers 4) Chris Johnson - TEN - RB Johnson looks to breakout against the Texans, I'm expecting a big game for him this week. 5) Matt Forte - CHI - RB I thought Chicago finally found a QB to take the pressure off of the run game? 6) Steven Jackson - STL - RB How does an offense that lousy not get the ball once to Jackson through the air? A 4.2 yards per carry though makes... read more

Not all champions are born, some get made. The waiver wire is the place where the smart proactive fantasy owner's can uncover hidden gems. Every year a couple of guys go undrafted only to emerge as the season progresses to lead fantasy team's to their league's title. Steve Slaton did it last year and Ryan Grant the year before him. It happens every year and will certainly happen again this year. Each week we will release a list of players who have significant fantasy value but are not owned in most leagues. These guy's can be picked up off your leagues waiver wire and either plugged into your starting lineup or used to provide your team with depth. Depending on your league size and scoring format some of these players will hold more value than others. Some of the players mentioned will have no significant fantasy value in smaller leagues,... read more

Week one finally arrives, and we at FantasyFootballBrothers are chomping at the bit. Let's get it started already. 1) Adrian Peterson - MIN - RB @ Cleveland I just hope the game stays close so A.P. can rack up some yardage before the Vikes offense has to throttles down. 2) Matt Forte - CHI - RB @ Green Bay It's time to see if the Bears can actually take some pressure off the run game with good QB play and keep the 8 man fronts to a minimum. 3) Maurice Jones-Drew - JAC - RB @ Ind. MJD's solo career begins with a tough road game. Expect MJD to see a lot of touches and don't be surprised when he has more receiving yards than rushing yards. 4) Steven Jackson - STL - RB @ Seattle The St.Louis offense will run through Jackson. Here is to hoping the Rams are greatly improved with a new coach, and a... read more
