Fantasy Football Brother's takes an updated look at the tight end position heading into 2011. While not a deep position overall, there are a lot of solid options throughout these ranks. What does this mean to us as fantasy owners? It means a wise draft strategy is at play here. You can select one of the top or elite TE's such as Antonio Gates, Jason Witten, Dallas Clark or Vernon Davis earlier in the draft. After all their production is at WR1 status, so why reach on a WR2 when you can get their production instead. A cautionary note on Dallas Clark however, with Peyton Manning's uncertainty, it would be wise for fantasy owner's to temper their expectations around Clark this season. Week 8 has some great matchups for Fantasy Guru's to exploit!  There will also be some big question marks.  The biggest question out there is Indy's Jacob Tamme.  Can he become the Dallas Clark type of TE that fantasy owners drool over?  My thought is that it will take some time, and this week will be a struggle.  (Imagine the pressure on him to perform!  Yikes..)  If your looking for a go to guy this week, I think Cooley and Witten have the most potential.  Yes, I know those guys are already on someone else's fantasy team...  So how about Kellen Winslow or Tony Moeaki??  Or if you have the guts to gamble with Peyton Manning as your Ace in the hole try Tamme and prove me wrong! 1) Antonio Gates - SDC - TE, vs. Tennessee Titans, Sun 4:05 PM Gates played injured last... read more

Week 7 is here, and the top Tight Ends are dropping like flies!!   Two of the top 3 TE's have been added to the IR in the last week and a half (Finley and now Dallas Clark) and many others are banged up.  Keep an eye on Antonio Gates this week as he is recovering from a toe injury, and hopefully we can get thru a week of action without losing another fantasy stud! 1) Antonio Gates - SDC - TE, vs. New England Patriots, Sun 4:15 PM Gates is listed as questionable with a toe injury, but we expect him to play on Sunday. As Week 7 begins, the TE spot has been shaken to it's core.  Big names have been injured, rookies have emerged, and nothing is certain from week to week.  BYE week confusion only makes things worse!  As we enter the half way mark for many fantasy leagues, points from your starting lineups take on new meaning.  Here at Fantasy Brothers we understand your concern, frustration, and hopefully jubilation as we enter crunch time.  Be sure to check out our First Look ranks, and then check in later in the week for all of your expert analysis.
