RB Ranks Week 1

Posted by Bill in Running Backs on Sep 8th 2010 (Print This)

With my last draft tonight, the summer season of fun is officially now coming to an end. The endless hours of phone conversations like a teenage girl talking about who you like better. Team Brees or team Rodgers? The endless debates about when to draft a WR. The hundreds of mock drafts semi-completed. The thousands of  trees that were cut down for all the print outs and magazines that you have read. And of course the million stink eyes received from the future ex-wife when the word football was whispered.  Ah tis the season. Until next spring when we do it again. The season kicks off for real tomorrow night in New Orleans and these ranks are for standard scoring leagues. We will begin our in-season content starting on Monday with our 1ST LOOK with Injuries. Tuesday will... read more

Sleepers & Busts

Posted by Paul in Fantasy Advice on Aug 31st 2010 (Print This)

With most fantasy drafts being held over the next few weeks, you can't help but feel a certain amount of excitement starting to build.  All those endless hours of preparation will finally get put to the test.  One of my favorite parts of any draft is selecting players in the later rounds.  I can't think of a better feeling than unearthing a fantasy gem with a late round flier. To make your job easier we do our Sleepers and Busts a little different.  We cover all 32 teams and identify multiple players who we feel could have a fantasy impact.  The fact is, we've become very good at identifying these players.  Last year we recommended taking fliers on Miles Austin, Sidney Rice, Jermichael Finley and Jamaal Charles to name a few.  If you happened to land two of these... read more

TOP 240: Kickers & Defenses Not Included

A top 200 ranking is an essential tool that every fantasy owner should use to help dominate their draft.  It helps owners gauge a players overall value instead of his positional value.  As usual, we went a little bit deeper and ranked the top 240 players.  We feel it was important to rank every player that could become relevant at some point during the season.  I left out defenses and kickers because my colleague Rob has already covered them extensively in his positional write ups.  We will continue to update these rankings as the season approaches. Top 240 1) Chris Johnson - TEN - RB 2) Adrian Peterson - MIN - RB 3) Maurice Jones-Drew - JAC - RB 4) Ray Rice - BAL - RB 5) Frank Gore - SFO - RB 6) Andre Johnson - HOU - WR 7) Aaron Rodgers - GRE - QB 8) Michael Turner - ATL - RB 9) Drew Brees - NOR -... read more

Have a question, bounce it off of us before you make a final decision on trades or player pickups. We are here to help you win a title. The Brotherhood has been hard at work with our draft kit roll out. Last week we ranked all of the RBs and this is our combined ranks. There was a ton of debate here as usual with fists being pounded on the table and lots of spirited discussion to put it mildly. We will be updating our positional ranks early and often as we head towards the start of the season.  And as a note to the reader, even though there are some injuries already, we are not going to move the players up and down the ranks due to a minor injury.  *Asterisks Are Next... read more

Dynasty/Keeper League Rankings-Running Backs-

Posted by admin in Fantasy Advice,Ranks,Running Backs on Aug 1st 2010 and last modified on Aug 2nd 2010. (Print This)

There are some rules in keeper league's that all of us owner's go by. It is a credo, a strict set of rules we manage our teams with, not to be strayed from the path. One is when a runner is nearing the age of 30, it is in our best interest to cut bait and go catch another younger runner. It is the over 30 rule in the NFL that has been drilled into our heads. Love it or hate it, it is not a trend, it is a fact. Running backs slow down when they hit the age of 30. Some players can defy the laws of aging, thinking Thomas Jones here, and some have a hard time making it to 30, thinking Clinton Portis. It all has to do with tread on the tires. How many carries... read more

Rice Needs To Have Another Big Game If The Ravens Are Going To Have Any Chance Saturday Against The Colts

With the Wild Card weekend behind us we rock on to the  Divisional playoff weekend. The weekend was filled with some painful games to watch if you are a Patriots,Bengals or Eagles fan. The best game of the weekend and of the entire season for that matter was the crazy game between the Packers and Cardinals. The game was a shootout from the beginning with the Packers overcoming a 17 point deficit and bringing the game into overtime with a fluke fumble returned by the Cardinals defense for a touchdown that ended the game. The game saw 96 total points scored 1,024 total yards between both teams and 9 total touchdowns thrown.  This weekend the Cardinals head to the Superdome in New Orleans in a game that... read more
