1ST LOOK: 2010 FANTASY MOCK DRAFT

Posted by in Fantasy Advice on Feb 25th 2010 and last modified on Feb 28th 2010. (Print This)

In case you haven't heard the NFL combine kicks off this week. All eyes will be tuned into the annual event that is quickly becoming must see t.v..  In fact the NFL has given out more than 620 media credentials and the NFL network has reportedly sent 21 employees to cover the event.  Wow!  That’s a lot of media personnel considering the players themselves won’t even be wearing pads.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of the combine and an even bigger fan of the NFL draft. I have watched every draft since I was 12 years old. I gush over forty times and love  sitting down with the other Brotherhood writers evaluating players and breaking down game film.  I know it does not matter what round these players get selected, the important part... read more

Fantasy Football Brothers releases our second edition of our fantasy player projections for Week 3. The reader response was strong and we received some positive and negative feedback. But mostly positive. We hope you enjoyed last week's projections and hope they helped you to win your fantasy matchups in Week 2. While we missed on some: Who would have thought Matt Schaub would have chosen the week two matchup to show up? Or that Tennessee's defense would decide to take the weekend off. Our projections are not tied to our ranks, as we try and give you the reader as many looks and scenarios as possible in the fantasy game. We are here to help you dominate your league, keep you three steps ahead of the rest of the league, answer your tough questions, and help you win your league. So with all of that out of the way let's get to the... read more

Fantasy Football Brothers prepares you for week 3. Running games across the NFL have suprisingly struggled in the early part of this season. Teams that have predicated their success around a strong run game have been forced to all but abandon the run, and go to the air. The Bears,Giants, Falcons, and Steelers all teams that were very successful last year running the ball, have seen a dramatic difference this year. Opposing defenses have sold out to stop the run, and the run blocking for all of the above teams has gone from above average to down right hideous. These teams long term success hinges on having a strong run game. Look for all of these teams to continue to try and run the ball. Because if not this will be a very long season for fantasy owners, and the fans of those teams. 1) Adrian Peterson - MIN - RB A.P. was shut down with only 92 yards... read more

Fantasy Football Brothers 1st look at the early RB ranks. Some of the higher drafted RB's look to rebound from a poor start. RB's Matt Forte has been a bust so far but Forte has a chance to rebound against a team RB Frank Gore shredded for over 200 yards on Sunday. RB Pierre Thomas looks like he might finally be healthy, add in the fact that RB Mike Bell looks like he will be unavailable Thomas has a chance to take his starting job back. RB's Brandon Jacobs, and Steve Slaton are two other backs that have yet to get going concerning fantasy owners everywhere, both have showed little so far to reinstill faith into their owners. We will be back friday with our final ranks. 1) Adrian Peterson - MIN - RB 2) Maurice Jones-Drew - JAC - RB 3) Matt Forte - CHI - RB 4) Chris Johnson - TEN -... read more

Week 2 Running Back Ranks

Posted by in Fantasy Advice,Running Backs on Sep 18th 2009 and last modified on Sep 19th 2009. (Print This)

1) Adrian Peterson - MIN - RB A very tasty match up against the lowly Lions. A.P. owners rejoice 2) Maurice Jones-Drew - JAC - RB M.J.D. was very productive against the Colts last week expect a bunch of touches against the Cards this week. 3) Michael Turner - ATL - RB Turner was shut down last week, despite the large amounts of carries. The Falcons will not abandon the run so look for Turner to continue to get a heavy workload against the Panthers 4) Chris Johnson - TEN - RB Johnson looks to breakout against the Texans, I'm expecting a big game for him this week. 5) Matt Forte - CHI - RB I thought Chicago finally found a QB to take the pressure off of the run game? 6) Steven Jackson - STL - RB How does an offense that lousy not get the ball once to Jackson through the air? A 4.2 yards per carry though makes... read more

Week one finally arrives, and we at FantasyFootballBrothers are chomping at the bit. Let's get it started already. 1) Adrian Peterson - MIN - RB @ Cleveland I just hope the game stays close so A.P. can rack up some yardage before the Vikes offense has to throttles down. 2) Matt Forte - CHI - RB @ Green Bay It's time to see if the Bears can actually take some pressure off the run game with good QB play and keep the 8 man fronts to a minimum. 3) Maurice Jones-Drew - JAC - RB @ Ind. MJD's solo career begins with a tough road game. Expect MJD to see a lot of touches and don't be surprised when he has more receiving yards than rushing yards. 4) Steven Jackson - STL - RB @ Seattle The St.Louis offense will run through Jackson. Here is to hoping the Rams are greatly improved with a new coach, and a... read more

The final week of the pre-season is upon us.  The fourth week is usually a backup festival that probably wont reveal anything we don't already know.  So I decided to take a longer look at week three.  The third week of the pre-season is the most important.  With most of the starting roster spots already solidified teams use the third game to play starters the longest to gauge there progress.  The players use the third week to get into shape and get acclimated with the contact and speed of the game.   It is also a chance for young guys to climb the depth chart in hopes of seeing playing time when the games count.  The fourth game of the pre-season is for fringe players to try and make a name for themselves and earn a roster spot.  The guys on this list are players who have either raised questions or... read more

Fantasy Football Brothers delves into their annual Rookie Running Back Report. Yes it is only our second year, but if I do say so myself I think I nailed it last year. That leads me to this year. I have struggled with this assignment this year. There are no show stoppers, or speed merchants or even can't miss products. There are no Forte's, Chris Johnson's or even Slaton's, or McFadden's. Last year was an aberration statistically with all of the high performing RBs. The rookie backs were what they always were before last year, average, some really good, but most not ready for prime time. So for everything that goes up, something must come down. Despite the NFL moving to the gut wrenching R.B.B.C. and making it even easier for a RB to hit the thousand yard mark which for anyone that cares is only 62.5 yards a game, I hate... read more

I am absolutely giddy about the next two weeks! This is the time of year that most leagues should be hosting there drafts. One of my favorite parts of any draft is taking fliers on players in the later rounds. There isn’t a better feeling than striking gold on a late round flier. This list was created as a tool to help you strike gold on draft day.  You should print this out and slip into the middle of your draft kit. Pull it out and study it while doing your duty on the throne. Familiarize yourself with the names on this list. Some players ranked will simply be players who are being overvalued or undervalued on draft day. Some of the guys will be late round fliers who could prove to be the difference for your fantasy team. We do things a little different with our sleepers and busts.... read more
