The combine has ended, players are prepping for their Pro Days on their respected campuses, and the picture of the draft is starting to play out through free agency. Let's take a look at the new mock and see who has risen' and fallen' down the board. 1.) Detroit-Matthew Stafford, QB, Georgia-The Lions appear committed to taking a quarterback now that Jon Kitna is in Dallas and Dan Orlovsky is in Houston. They have cleared room for this pick and Stafford now becomes the clear cut favorite. While I think the Lions would be wise to go in another direction, such as offensive tackle, I can't see them going into the season with Drew Stanton as the only backup to Daunte Culpepper. 2.) Stokes, Mike Williams, Dwayne Jarrett, etc.) These are just a few of many questions as we head into the 2009 draft. 1.) Detroit-Andre Smith, OT, Alabama-Smith is a once in a decade lineman, an Ogden, a Pace, a nice building block for a team in rebuilding mode. A good fit with a young back like Kevin Smith. Quarterback can wait another year or later in the draft, no one said rebuilding is pretty. 2.) St. Louis-Eugene Monroe, OT, Virginia-Pace is near the end of... read more
