Week 1 was a wild one for the quarterback position.  It proved to be as deep as advertised, with 14 throwing for more than 300 yards.  Four threw for over 400 yards, including Chad Henne and rookie Cam Newton.  Both players went undrafted in most formats, but a sure to come off of waivers this week.  I'm looking forward to see what Newton will do for an encore against the Packers.  As impressive as his debut was, I'm keeping him on my bench in week 2.  Henne had no choice but to throw early and often against the Patriots.  The Dolphins have no ground attack what so ever and will need to throw a lot this year.  How bad was Miami's running game you ask?  Henne led all Miami rushers with 59 yards.  He should be added... read more

This is an updated version of my quarterback ranks and write ups.  I included each players average draft position or ADP, to give you a better idea of were each of these players is being drafted.  Hopefully it helps you form a solid draft strategy that will enable you to maximize value for every pick. I've been preaching the importance of owning a solid signal caller in my articles for years.  It's the engine that runs your team. This is the reason why I always recommend stacking your roster with as many top signal callers as possible.  By stacking as many chips as you can in your favor, you are giving yourself better odds. Due to the lockout and free agency frenzy we decided to wait and see how it all shook out. Drafting a successful fantasy playoff team takes a completely different strategy then in the regular season.  The key to a successful fantasy playoff team is projecting who you think will play in the big game.  The problem with this strategy, is that's it's incredibly difficult to do. Outside of the Seahawks every team has a legitimate chance of reaching the Super Bowl.  The key is to fill your roster with as many players who you believe will play in the most games. Fantasy Football Brother's puts a wrap on the season as we release our Week 17 Quarterback Rankings. As we have said before, if you play in a league where the fantasy championships are determined in Week 17, it's time for a change. Take a look at the rankings and see the names of some of these quarterbacks that are starting, it's ugly. With each passing week fantasy nation continues to trek deeper and deeper into the playoffs.  Some owners get lucky enough to advance while others fall victim to the cruel fate that only this game can provide.  I know the Adrian Peterson decision absolutely destroyed fantasy teams across the nation last night.  It's a gut wrenching feeling that can ruin an owners season in an instance.  A wonderful dream season turned to crap just like that.  How many A.P. owners yelled at their wives, girlfriends, kids or in some cases pets last night?  They did nothing wrong but get in the path of a fantasy train wreck.  And why didn't A.P. tweet something and let us know he wasn't going to play?  Doesn't he play fantasy football?  Wouldn't the $25,000 dollar fine he would have received for... read more

In our pre-season draft kit I wrote that nine out of ten fantasy teams will win a title with an elite quarterback leading their team.  Take a look at the the final four teams left in your leagues playoffs.  I bet that at least three of the four teams have either Peyton, Brady, Brees, Rivers, Vick and until last week Rodgers heading their teams.  Remember this little tidbit of information when your drafting your teams next summer. Fantasy owners will most likely be without Aaron Rodgers this week.  Rodgers suffered a concussion against the Lions on Sunday and is doubtful to face the Patriots Sunday night.  We'll have official word Saturday, but it doesn't look good.  Matt Flynn will most likely start in his place and should not be considered a fantasy option. Peyton Manning proved yet again how important it is to have an elite signal caller leading your team.  After Thursday nights outing Peyton owner's have the luxury of heading into Sunday with a comfortable lead. Again, it's why we preach the importance of drafting or trading for a top quarterback.  We know we can rely on Vick, Brady, Rivers, Rodgers and Brees, but what about all the others?  After these five signal callers can we really trust anyone.  This week Kyle Orton and Joe Flacco make solid starts but that doesn't mean they don't come with question marks. How will the coaching change in Denver affect Orton and the offense? Can we expect more Knowshon Moreno? In Baltimore will Flacco continue to air it out against a bad Texans secondary? With everyone in the free world focusing on the Michael Vick Experience, we failed to mention another incredible feat that took place in week 10.  Thirteen quarterbacks threw for over 300 yards, and that list doesn’t include Peyton Manning.  That’s a ton, especially when you take into consideration that Rodgers, Rivers and Brees all had the week off.  What’s even more remarkable, is that four other signal callers missed the 300 mark by a combined 18 yards.  It’s a true testament to just how deep the quarterback positions is this year.
