Draft time is here! It's what we've been preparing for all off-season. Your other responsibilities and obligations take a back seat as you begin to set your sites on a fantasy title. Pre-Season Week 3 often reveals the most, but some of us have our drafts this weekend. Much has happened to the wide-out pool: Sidney Rice could miss half the season. Vincent Jackson is still waiting to be traded. Percy Harvin's continued struggle with Migraines is concerning. Dez appears ready to get back on the playing field, while Chaz Schilens finds himself side-lined once again. Who's stalk is rising? We like Jabar Gaffney, Malcom Floyd and Johnny Knox. Josh Cribbs has played more of a role in Cleveland's passing game than most expected. Wes Welker has proven to be an incredible healer. Larry Fitzgerald cringed as he watched his starting quarterback... read more

The NFL has developed into a pass-happy league. With the playbooks opening up, and the offenses spreading out, Wide Receivers have leap-frogged running backs as the staple of fantasy success. The elite top runners kick off the first round in most formats (Chris Johnson, Adrian Peterson, Maurice Jones-Drew, Ray Rice, and Frank Gore), but past that, WRs have infiltrated the bottom half of the first round and dominate the second. Recent ADP (Average Draft Position) trends have Andre Johnson, Randy Moss and Reggie Wayne as first rounders in standard scoring/12 team formats. 6 out of 12 second round spots are going to pass-catchers. That's more than any other position.  We’ll continue to keep an eye on the injuries. Jeremy Maclin, DeSean Jackson and Hakeem Nicks enter 2010 with high expectations. None of their camp ailments appear serious. We’re not worried... read more

Welcome to Fantasy Football Brothers. This week we roll into week two of our Free Draft Kit, this week we are going to take a hard look at the RBs.  Today we will have the philosophy, on Wednesday we will have our position ranks and writeups.  Friday we will have our Pre-Season RB award ceremony. Also this week we are dropping our college draft kit for all of our college fantasy players. Every fantasy football league is set up differently with different line ups, rules, and different scoring.  That means every fantasy draft is different. Most ranks that are out there are either geared towards a standard scoring league or a P.P.R. formatted league which means the draft cheat sheets that you are looking at are not customized for you or your league. It also could mean that you are using a cheat... read more

QB Draft Kit week continues today with our ranks and writeups. We are also taking a look into our crystal ball and with our 2010 stat projections. There was much debate here at Fantasy Football Brothers surrounding our combined ranks. There always is when you have five guys with five different opinions. We took each of our  five individual ranks and combined them to come up with this rank. We will continuously update these ranks and projections as the NFL gets into full swing. 1) Drew Brees - NOR - QB CMP ATT PYDS PTD INT RUSH ATT RUSH YDS RUSH TD 399 585 4790 35 12 25 36 2 The reigning Super Bowl MVP enters 2010 as our #1 signal caller. After four straight 4,000 yard seasons it would be a crime not to rank Brees #1. The Saints offense comes back virtually intact so we can expect him to pass for more gaudy passing numbers in'10. The only thing hurting... read more

We’re kicking off our FREE 2010 Draft Kit with the most important position in football and arguably all of sports.  Quarterback’s are the most important players on the football field and are far and away the most crucial to a teams overall success.  (Disclaimer: I am the QB guru here, so I am a little biased on the position)The NFL has evolved into a pass first league, as the league has changed the rules that cater to the offense.  More teams are spreading the field and throwing at least as much or more than they ever have before.  This trend will continue to grow, and is the reason why front office personnel around the league will do almost anything to secure a top signal caller.  Teams know that without a strong quarterback there's a good chance you can kiss your playoff hopes goodbye. The same is true... read more

The tight end position has turned into one of the deepest positions in the NFL. While there are four really solid options who will always start the tight end run in most drafts, smart and savvy owners know they can wait and get one in the later rounds that will offer them great value with huge upside. When another owner wastes his pick on a TE, it just means somebody you like or need will slide to you. If there is a position to wait on, this is it, as even the four solid options have questions or red flags with injury histories, age and changing offensive schemes that might not fit their style of play. If you don't get one of the four when the inevitable TE run occurs, don't panic, remember to wait, those teams that selected those four no longer need a TE which means the remaining teams won't... read more

I can't believe that we're watching football already. Granted it's early, but week one of the pre-season has shown us a few things. From camp battles to injuries, Fantasy Football Brothers takes you around the league filling you in on this weekends events. Didn't have time to catch any of the action - Tune in every Monday for the Week in Review as we venture through the Winners and Losers at each position. WINNERS: CHRIS HENRY - WR, CINCINNATI: Henry has shut his mouth and put on his cleats this off-season. He's been able to remain on the field and off police reports. The departure of T.J. Houshmandzadeh has left a void to be filled and a numerous amount of targets to be inherited. Coles will play more of a possession role. Henry's talent has never been questioned, but his character has prohibited him from reaching his potential. Quarterback Carson Palmer has made comments, calling Henry "Baby Moss". That may be a... read more

2009 Kicker Rankings

Posted by in Fantasy Advice,Free Draft Kit,Kickers on Aug 16th 2009 and last modified on Aug 17th 2009. (Print This)

There are some general rules with kickers. One is that they are unpredictable and a kicker will get the "shanks" from time to time. Two is to get one on a good team or get one whose team struggles in the red-zone. Three is get a kicker that plays in favorable conditions, whether it be a warm weather climate or a domed stadium. The last, most important rule of all is don't be the guy or girl at your draft that reaches for a kicker before the last two rounds. So without much fanfare or writeup here is Fantasy Football Brothers list of kickers to "target" at your draft 1) Stephen Gostkowski - NEP - KI 2) Rob Bironas - TEN - KI 3) David Akers - PHI - KI 4) Jason Elam - ATL - KI 5) Nate Kaeding - SDC - KI 6) Robbie Gould - CHI - KI 7) Mason Crosby - GRE -... read more
