Nothing Else Matters!

It’s playoff time. The phones are ringing off the hook. The mailbag is as big as Santa’s sack. The Brotherhood has received more letters this week than Saint Nick himself. Tempers are flaring, fuses are short and the stakes are as high as ever. There is nothing better than winning a fantasy championship. It’s not about the money. It’s about being a ruthless fantasy ruler. It’s about making your competitors bow down and kiss the ring. It’s about being superior. To be the King looking down on all the silly little peasants in the court yard. The engraving of your team’s name on that trophy goes on for eternity. You’ve cheated your best friends, neglected your loved ones and have sold out your home team for your fantasy squad. Ashamed? Absolutely not! You should be proud of yourself. We are fantasy junkies, addicted to... read more

Week 14: WR Ranks & Write Ups (Fantasy Playoff Edition)

We love Greg Jennings this week. Detroit will have no answer for the stud WR. James Starks should provide the team with decent balance. If he becomes effective between the tackles, opposing safeties will be forced to pick their poison. The Top-10 is stacked with favorable match-ups. We expect both DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin to have solid outings vs. the Cowboys. True, Big D's Defense has improved, but they'll be no match for the speed of Mike Vick and company. Don't be surprised if Maclin out-produces his teammate. Boldin is coming off his best outing in weeks. With the Texan's dead awful defense on tap, expect continued success. Todd Heap's absence will force Flacco to be more heavily reliant on his stud. Tampa's Mike... read more

1) Michael Bush - OAK - RB, at Jacksonville Jaguars, Sun 1:00 PM If he's somehow out there - GO GET HIM! The Raiders have been quite labile this season, but it's clear that the team's success rides on their ground game. Bush looked very strong vs. the Bolts last week. He's pulled even with the Dark Knight and has turned the Raider back-field into a legitimate time-share.   2) Tashard Choice - DAL - RB, vs. Philadelphia Eagles, Sun 8:20 PM This week's match-up with Philly will pose some problems. That being said, with Washington and Arizona on the playoff schedule, it's hard to pass on Choice. With the added weight, Felix Jones looks like he's lost a step. Marion Barber has been even less effective. With DezBryant on the sidelines, look for the Cowboys to be more reliant on the run. Choice has the skill set to run between-the-tackles,... read more

1st Look: Week 14 WR Ranks

Greg Jennings is our headliner this week as most of us enter the playoffs. He should have his way with a Detroit secondary. Reggie Wayne is coming off his best game of the year. He single handily gave Indy a chance vs. Dallas. Peyton Manning's woes will only help out the superstar WR as the Colts are being forced to throw more than ever as they find themselves in tight match-ups or playing from behind. We're high on both Eagle WRs this week. Although Dallas' secondary has improved, we think that they'll be no match for the speed of Philly's offense. Both Dwayne Bowe and Brandon Lloyd disappeared in Week 13. Expect them both to bounce back. It will be interesting to see how Head Coach Josh McDaniels' firing will effect the Bronco offense, but a... read more

Week 13 WR Ranks & Write Ups

For many, this is the final game of the regular season. Playoff spots are on the line. Here we go! Sneaky Plays: Derrick Mason: Mason has been Flacco's go-t0-guy since the bye week. He's scored in three out of the last four games. He's aging but continues to prove he's got some solid games still under his belt. As Boldin draws opposing defense's superior corners, Mason has been able to take advantage on the opposite side. Eddie Royal: Royal opened the year hot, but then vanished from fantasy relevance. He's coming off his best performance in weeks and looks to be fully healthy after some minor nagging injuries. He gets a bump in return formats. Donario Alexander: Alexander needs to see an increase in snaps, but expect him to make the best of whatever action he sees. He's given us... read more

1) Frank Gore - SFO - RB Gore's injury appears to be the most significant one of the weekend. After opening the game with some impressive running, Gore left briefly with what appeared to be a minor injury. He was able to comeback into the game, only to retake the sidelines after one play. Gore remained in pads for most of the game, giving owners optimism. But post game reports are that he's suffered a fractured hip that will put him on the I.R. for the rest of the season. We're still awaiting official team reports. Brian Westbrook got the bulk of the carries and performed very well vs. a porous Zona D. Anthony Dixon provided relief, but saw a much smaller portion of touches. Westbrook looked fresh in his cuts and provided viewers with flashbacks of... read more

At first I felt uncomfortable placing Dwayne Bowe in the 1 spot, but when you really look at the stats, there is no way that you can't. He's caught at least one touchdown in each of the last six weeks. During that time span, he's found pay-dirt 10 times. There is no one hotter! With Seattle on the menu, the streak will continue. Atlanta will be forced to pass in order to keep pace with the Pack. Roddy White was relitively quiet last week. We expect a little more noise in what should be a high scoring affair. Calvin Johnson will have a shot at a young Pats secondary. They looked strong early vs. the Colts last week, but showed immaturity and weakness in the second half. Megatron sould be one of the biggest fantasy contributors going forward. Andre... read more

Week 11: WR Ranks & Write Ups

Last week was the debut of our "Sneaky Play" section. We went 4 for 4 with Mike Thomas, Mario Manningham, Nate Washington and Steve Breaston. We expect all these guys to produce yet again this weekend. With Steve Smith sidelined, Manningham will remain an  integral part of the passing attack. Mike Sims Walker is expected to sit vs. the Browns, leaving Mike Thomas with a ton of targets. Washington and Breaston are longer shots to produce, but offer decent upside if your looking for patch duty. Want some new names? Lets take a look: James Jones: With Donald Driver's continued quad concerns, Jones may once again have the opportunity to start. He's been inconsistent at times, but is coming off of his best game of the... read more

1st. Look: Week 11 WR Ranks

Brandon Lloyd has proven to be a must-start regardless of opponent. He did not skip a beat vs. Brandon Flowers and the KC passing defense. He leads the league in receiving yards (878), and is expected to eclipse the century mark yet again vs. the Bolts this Monday Night. The Chargers secondary will be easily exposed. Rivers vs. Orton should lead to a ton of stats. Roddy White tops our charts with the Rams on the menu. Matt Ryan continues to target him nearly every other play in the passing game. This offense is as balanced as ever. Micheal Turner should rebound this weekend, but expect continued production out of White. How the Steeler WR's final ranks look will depend on whether or not Hines Ward plays. The Raiders may choose to put Nnamdi... read more

Week 10: WR Ranks & Write Ups

Posted by in Ranks,Wide Receivers on Nov 12th 2010 and last modified on Nov 13th 2010. (Print This)

With Roddy White and Anquan Boldin already done for the week and Steve Smith and Austin Collie ruled out, lesser names are climbing further up the ranks. Pierre Garcon and Mario Manningham are on the rise, while Brandon Marshall and Miles Austin continue to fall. Manningham has put up stats despite being the Giant's WR3. He's scored in two out of the last three games, and should have no problems exploiting a porous Dallas secondary. If you were looking for someone to plug-in and play, Manningham is the man. Will Chad Pennington's insertion further hurt Marshall's potential? We don't believe so. Pennington has always been criticized for his lack of arm strength, but his accuracy is far better than Henne's. Don't expect Marshall to be catching the deep ball, but Pennington should be able to take better advantage... read more
