Week 17 is here, and many fantasy seasons are already over.  For the few of you that are left playing, the stakes are high!  We congratulate you for making it this far and hope you can seal the deal.  Here are the ranks for week 17 as we see them: 1) Jacob Tamme - IND - TE, vs. Tennessee Titans, Sun 1:00 PM 2) Jason Witten - DAL - TE, at Philadelphia Eagles, Sun 1:00 PM 3) Kellen Winslow - TAM - TE, at New Orleans Saints, Sun 1:00 PM 4) Marcedes Lewis - JAC - TE, at Houston Texans, Sun 1:00 PM 5) Chris Cooley - WAS - TE, vs. New York Giants, Sun 1:00 PM 6) Owen Daniels - HOU - TE, vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, Sun 1:00 PM 7) Jimmy Graham - NOR - TE, vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Sun 1:00 PM 8)... read more

Week 16 has come and gone, and luckily for many fantasy owners playing for championships their were no devastating injuries that determined their games outcome.  Here are the few fantasy relevant notables: Anthony Fasano-TE-MIA:  After catching 2 passes for 41yds, Fasano injured his knee in the second half of his game against the Lions.  Although his injury didn’t look too serious, with the Pats D in his future for Week 17, Fasano isn’t worthy of a fantasy spot. Sindey Rice-WR-MIN:  Rice looked sloppy early in his game against Philly, but he did manage to grab one pass for 16yds.  It was on that reception that he took a helmet to helmet hit that eventually ended his night.  He will undergo the mandatory concussion tests this week, but with Webb throwing... read more

Week 16: Tight End Rankings

Week 16... YIKES!    Hopefully your like me, playing for a championship in one league, semi's in another, and thankfully out of the playoffs in a third so that I can focus on the truth.  I've found that both of my "big" matchups are fairly even, and the TE spot could be crucial in both.  My opponents have Witten and Vernon Davis which makes things a bit more complicated.  I'm flying with Boss (as a substitue for Aaron Hernandez) in one league and praying for Owen Daniels in my other league (as a substitute for Antonio Gates).  Surely you guys can relate!!  It's all about maximizing your potential and playing the matchups at this point in the season, and the chips will fall regardless.  Hopefully you have one of the top 5 TE's playing this week (as both of my opponents... read more

1st Look: Week 16 TE Ranks

Posted by in 1st Look,Rank on Dec 22nd 2010 (Print This)

Week 16 will determine the fate of many fantasy seasons.  At this point, it's the little things that make a big difference!  The TE spot is usually overlooked on draft day, but come championship time, you can bet that the remaining teams will have one of the top TE's.  Hopefully you fit into this category, otherwise there will be some tough choices this week.  Here is the preliminary ranking for the TE spot.  If you have one of the top 10, then sit back and relax!  Otherwise...  If your desperate, these are a few guys worth gambling on this week:  Todd Heap if he is able to play, Randy McMichael if Gates is out, and Rob Gronkowski (Brady usually goes every other week with his TE's and Hernandez was clearly the TD guy this past week!).  As always, the FFB... read more

1st Look: Week 15 Fantasy Relevant Injuries

Posted by in Fantasy Advice on Dec 20th 2010 and last modified on Dec 21st 2010. (Print This)

Week 15 was full of surprises (just ask the Giants, and the Pats) but luckily, for most fantasy managers, it was without major injuries thusfar.  The exceptions were Knowshon Moreno, and Austin Collie who both could be out for the remainder of the season (and/or your fantasy season).  Collie will leave the biggest void, especially after his performances the last 2 games with which he started and was unable to finish.  Blair White will benefit the most from his departure, and Tamme should also pick up some of the slack for Indy.  Moreno is just another slap in the face!  Hopefully your depth will carry you thru the finals at this point, because any relavant substitutes are long gone from the waiver wire at this point!  LaRod Stephens-Howling-RB-ARI:  LaRod injured his hamstring in his game on Sunday, which is the same... read more

Week 15: Tight End Ranks & Write Ups

Posted by in Ranks,Tight Ends on Dec 17th 2010 and last modified on Dec 18th 2010. (Print This)

Week 15 is upon us, and the Fantasy Playoffs are in full swing.  Be sure to start your studs, and if you desperate, narrow down your options and then read the rankings to make your final decision.  Some notables this week are Owen Daniels, Marcedes Lewis, Bo Scaife, and even Zach Miller (Oak) who could all make a nice splash for your fantasy team.  Most of the TE1 talents have nice matchups, so you should have some confidence and be able to rest easy as the FFB guides your team to a Fantasy Championship. 1) Jacob Tamme - IND - TE, vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, Sun 1:00 PM Tamme and the Colts have their back against the wall, and their playoff run could be in jeopardy. Look for Manning to take control early in this one, and Tamme should see... read more

Week 14 went according to plan (with the exception of Gates not playing) and I hope that you read last weeks final ranks to ensure your victory.  Look for Witten to once again rule to air for the Cowboys, and Vernon Davis should have a nice game as well.  Long shots are Owen Daniels and Heath Miller this week.  Stay tuned for final ranks, due out later this week, for details. 1) Jason Witten - DAL - TE, vs. Washington Redskins, Sun 1:00 PM 2) Jacob Tamme - IND - TE, vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, Sun 1:00 PM 3) Antonio Gates - SDC - TE, vs. San Francisco 49ers, Thu 8:20 PM 4) Vernon Davis - SFO - TE, at San Diego Chargers, Thu 8:20 PM 5) Kellen Winslow - TAM - TE, vs. Detroit Lions, Sun 1:00 PM 6) Tony Gonzalez -... read more

1st Look: Fantasy Relevant Injuries Week 14

Posted by in 1st Look,Injuries on Dec 13th 2010 and last modified on Dec 14th 2010. (Print This)

Week 14's injuries may have actually been the difference maker for some owners this week.  No one like to lose in the fantasy playoffs, especially when your QB1 goes down with a concussion!!  Unfortunately those are just bad breaks...   (Even the FFB can't predict those outcomes!)  Hopefully you took our advice for the whole season, and earned a first round BYE.  As always, stay tuned for ranks later in the week with injury updates and start'em or sit'em advice. Beanie Wells-RB-ARI: Beanie was fighting a stomach bug during his game on Sunday, and it showed!  He only saw the field for a few minutes, and he finished the day with 6 carries for 16yds.  Look for Beanie to recover this week, although his fantasy potential continues to be limited. Lee Evans-WR-BUF: Evans suffered a sprained... read more

Week 14: TE Ranks & Write Ups (Fantasy Playoff Edition)

Posted by in Rank on Dec 10th 2010 and last modified on Dec 11th 2010. (Print This)

Week 14 is here and we can't stress our rule of thumb enough...  "Start your studs!"  Injuries do come into play a bit here, but for the most part this should be a no-brainer.  Look for Vernon Davis to have a nice week as well as Witten, Pettigrew, and possibly even Celek.  Long shots are Ed Dickson and Dustin Keller.   Best of luck this week as playoffs begin in most leagues. 1) Jacob Tamme - IND - TE, at Tennessee Titans, Thu 8:20 PM Tamme will continue to be one of Manning's best options in the passing game. He's a must start as long as Manning is looking his way. 2) Antonio Gates - SDC - TE, vs. Kansas City Chiefs, Sun 4:15 PM Gates (although still limited by his foot injury) could... read more

There are several injured TE's that are listed as questionable in this weeks injury report.  Use these rankings as your baseline, but be sure to check the injury report and status updates as the week progresses to make sure that your TE will be playing this week.  Witten, Gonzo, and Heap are just a few of the notables that fall into this bucket.   As far as Week 14 projections go, I expect Vernon Davis to have a good week, along with Kellen Winslow, and even Brent Celek!  Stay tuned for the final ranks and write-ups that will be published later in the week. 1) Jacob Tamme - IND - TE, at Tennessee Titans, Thu 8:20 PM 2) Antonio Gates - SDC - TE, vs. Kansas City Chiefs, Sun 4:15 PM 3) Jason Witten - DAL -... read more
