Week 16 QB Ranks

Brees should break Marinos passing record Monday Night.

Eli Manning’s poor performance on Sunday probably cost more than a few owners a shot at playing for a fantasy title.  It’s a tough pill to swallow considering how well he has played over the last month.  Two of his three interceptions came when the Redskins sent an all out blitz.  Pryor to this game Eli was doing  a great job of exposing opposing defenses in these exact situations.  Unfortunately for us, this is exactly what we’ve come to expect from Eli when we need him the most.  He lets us down.  This performance is the reason why I had Eli as a preseason bust.  We know he’s a QB1.  We know he’ll throw for 4,000 + yards and 25 + touchdowns.  And we know he will let us down.

Rodgers almost pulled an Eli, but managed two second half touchdowns (1 rushing) saving his fantasy day.  Every great offense is going to have a bad day, but it looked like Rodgers really missed Greg Jennings.  I fully expect the offense to get back on track vs. the Bears on Christmas night.  It would be a welcome gift.

Drew Brees is playing at a very high level.  His near perfect performance on Sunday was just another example of how important it is to have a top signal caller come the playoffs.  He’s only 304 yards shy of breaking Dan Marinos record, and I expect it to come Monday night vs. the Falcons.  Most owners who are playing for a title will have to wait until late Monday night to see if they one a title.
