Week 4: WR Ranks

Posted by in Fantasy Advice,Ranks,Wide Receivers on Sep 30th 2011 and last modified on Oct 2nd 2011. (Print This)

Wes Welker: The guy is a reception machine, is the WR1 in arguably the most explosive offense in the league, has the greatest quarterback to ever play the game throwing to him(notice I didn't say "arguably"), and is finding the end-zone with apparent ease. He used to be simply considered a PPR-stud, but the guy is a producer regardless of scoring format. He does not carry the same sex-appeal as some of the prototypical wide-outs, but Welker is as consistent as they come! Where does he rank this week? At the 3 spot. The "Slot Machine" has earned a weekly top-10, if not top-5 rank. The Raiders will be no push over for the Patriots. With the ineffectiveness of Ochocinco and the injury to Aaron Hernandez - Welker will see an even greater number of targets. He's a weekly threat to post double-digit receptions, triple-digit... read more

Week 4:Tight End Ranks

Posted by in Fantasy Advice,Ranks,Tight Ends on Sep 30th 2011 and last modified on Oct 1st 2011. (Print This)

Fantasy Football Brother's looks at the Tight End Final Ranks for Week 4. The postion continues to be one where fantasy owner's can find extra points week to week. Antonio Gates owner's should be concerned as his foot is not getting better. There is a thought that he might miss the season if surgery is indeed necessary. We again take a look at the Studs and Duds from Week 3. As always we take a look back before we can look forward to Week 4. STUDS: Jermichael Finley-Packers-7 rec., 85 yards, 3 TD's on 8 targets-This is what Finley owner's were waiting for. Rob Gronkowski-Patriots-7rec., 109 yards, 2 TD's on 9 targets-He continues to be out of this world productive. Jimmy Graham-Saints-4 rec., 100 yards, 1 TD on 8 targets-We had him ranked number one last week and he didn't disappoint. Owen Daniels-Texans-5 rec., 76 yards, 1 TD on 9 targets-Daniels is Option... read more

Week 4:Running Back Ranks

Posted by in Fantasy Advice,Running Backs on Sep 30th 2011 and last modified on Oct 1st 2011. (Print This)

Every Friday the Brotherhood unleashes our final positional ranks. We are going to give our RB ranks a new look this week and try something out. Between injuries and backfield committees the position has become more diluted than ever. There are far fewer backs that can just get plugged in an played every week. RB Chris Johnson and Michael Turner were two backs that got drafted in the first round and just can't seem to get going. For Johnson it has been the poor line play that has killed his fantasy season to date. To say that the o-line is playing awful would be an understatement. If things don't improve against a shaky Browns defense, owners might have to face the fact that they might never improve.  For Turner, the problem appears to be more complicated. The Falcons have greatly under performed in every category and the on field results have been just plain... read more

Week 4: Quarterback Ranks

Posted by in Fantasy Advice,Quarterbacks,Ranks on Sep 30th 2011 and last modified on Oct 1st 2011. (Print This)

Fantasy Football Brother's takes a peek at the quarterbacks for Week 4. The Patriots' Tom Brady continues to put up eye-popping numbers and there was a discussion around the round table today. It involved the question, "Is Tom Brady the best ever?" When you sit and watch Brady, are we watching the best NFL player ever? As you sit there with your kid watching the game, are you telling him/her that he is the greatest player or quarterback ever to play the game? We ultimately came to the decision that he is.... If you are a Philip Rivers owner is it time to panic? Why do I always seem to get him in a down year is the question we were asked by some. Rivers' owners' shouldn't panic, it could be worse, you could make a trade for Eli Manning and give... read more

Week 4: Kicker and Defense Ranks

Posted by in Defenses,Fantasy Advice,Kickers,Ranks on Sep 28th 2011 and last modified on Oct 2nd 2011. (Print This)

Fantasy Football Brother's takes a look at the Kicker and Defensive units for Week 4 in the NFL. We have it set up so you can one stop shop when looking at what glorified soccer player to play or whatever team is playing the Seahawks or Chiefs. As we state in our draft kit, if you are carrying two kickers and defenses, please don't. Don't be that guy. If you are worried about their bye week you are losing value elsewhere in your lineup. There are simply too many variables for these two positions week in and week out. There is simply no reason to be carrying two of these positions, when you can pluck possible value off the waiver wire and already have a David Nelson or Denarius Moore on your roster before they are the hot waiver selections. Here are the Week 4 Ranks: 1) Mason Crosby -... read more

It's Week 4 in the NFL and Fantasy Football Brother's takes a look at the rankings in our First Look Series. The list this week is led by the Packers' Jermichael Finley who had 3 TD's last week and looks to build on that production going forward. We had the Saints' Jimmy Graham in the top spot last week and he didn't disappoint fantasy owner's. Speaking of disappointment, Antonio Gates owner's were feeling the loss, hopefully you found a good replacement for his production, say the Steelers' Heath Miller or the Bills' Scott Chandler. Fantasy owner's should continue to monitor the status of the Charger's Antonio Gates heading into the week. This Friday these ranks will be solidified for Week 4. Here are the First Look Ranks: 1) Jermichael Finley - GRE - TE, vs. Denver Broncos, Sun 4:15 PM 2) Rob Gronkowski - NEP - TE, at Oakland Raiders, Sun 4:15 PM 3)... read more

We urged owners to keep the faith for Julio Jones and Lance Moore. Both deserved a little leeway - Moore missed extensive time due to injury and Jones was quickly oriented to the NFL with two difficult match-ups vs. the Bears and Eagles. Many of our members were asking about "buy-low" targets. Roddy White was atop that list. The Falcon offense is just getting started. White looked back in 2010 form last week, but did experience a couple of drops. A prime match-up vs. the Seahawks secondary should have both ATL receivers landing solid stat lines this Sunday. Kenny Britt's injury will force Nate Washington into the WR1 role in Tennessee. Washington is much more productive against inferior coverage functioning as the secondary receiver. He may see an increase in targets, but don't expect an overall bump in production. Damian Williams needs... read more

Every Tuesday, Fantasy Football Brothers scours the waiver wires and looks for the best players that are out there and who can improve your team. Whether they are short term or long term answers, we will identify what they will bring to your team.   Week 3 was the week of the WR (Again). The spreading out of the field has really diliuted the numbers at receiver spot. Losing Kenny Britt for the season who had been playing at a top 3 WR level is a big loss for fantasy owners. We saw two lesser known wideouts in Victor Cruz (More on him in part 2)for the Giants and Torrey Smith of the Ravens just explode on to the fantasy scene. Owners who weren't watching the game on TV and just saw Smith's... read more

Fantasy Football Brothers takes a 1ST LOOK at the RBs heading into week 4. There is growing concern around the quagmire that is the Panthers backfield and the Packers backfield as well. The Panthers backs are playing like second stringers instead of 1A and 1B. Owners are wise to take a wait and see approach. They are too valuable to cut and aren't worth nearly what they were heading into week 1. The Packers have gone from trying to get RB James Starks more involved to now saying they need to get Ryan Grant more involved. What to believe? They are entering the Patriots zone. You don't know who will be the better play each week. On the injury front Frank Gore got hurt and missed the end of the game. Reports right... read more
