Editor’s Note: Fantasy Football Brothers Will Be Releasing Ranks On Wednesday, With An Injury/News Updated Version On Friday.
The Week of Thanksgiving is my favorite week of the year (No Offense Christmas.) There is plenty to celebrate between family, friends, football and food. Though you can easily have too much of three out of those four things, you can never have too much football. Before getting down to business, I would just like to share my thanks and appreciation of a few things. I am extremely grateful for all of my fellow Fantasy Brothers. They have absolutely busted their asses this year to make this site, one of the best kept secrets in Fantasy Football. I am grateful for my family and of course my lovely, beautiful girlfriend who not only supports me, but puts up with the 9 month long conversation about anything and everything that has to do with all things football. Thanks to all of our readers, because with out all of your support, and encouragement we would be just another fantasy site. To you and yours, Happy Thanksgiving from all of us here at Fantasy Football Brothers. With Best Wishes The Brotherhood.
Latest Player News: In Indy, it looks like it will be the Donald Brown show (again) with Javarris James (Questionable)getting the goal line looks. Neither Mike Hart, or Joseph Addai look like they will be available in week 12. Jacksonville’s Maurice Jones-Drew (Questionable) should be ready to go against the Giants, but keep an eye out for our Week 12 GameCenter and inactive list just in case.
Coming out of New York Wednesday was Ahmad Bradshaw getting demoted after fumbling his way out of the starting job. Whether this is motivational (More Than Likely)or a more permanent thing. It will be easier to judge as the game rolls on. I was worried about his declining numbers and mentioned that red flags were starting to show in his game. as there has been a very noticeable decline in his play over the last three weeks. Hopefully for Bradshaw owners, Brandon Jacobs doesn’t break out.
Mike & Mike: Week 11 was the week of the waiver wire heros. Owners lucky enough to pick up Mike Goodson and Mike Tolbert were able to ride both back ups to huge numbers in Week 11. Owners need to watch the status of Ryan Mathews (Doubtful)and Jonathan Stewart (Probable)as the week progresses. Jonathan Stewart is expected to return this week and could start over the highly productive Goodson. Goodson is now a flex play against a streaky Browns defense. In San Diego Ryan Mathews is on track to miss another game leaving a ton of carries available for Mike Tolbert to scoop up. The Colts defense is highly susceptible to a power back with some speed. (See Arian Foster’s Week 1 Performance)
Portis To I.R. Washington placed Clinton Portis on the I.R. for the second year in a row. Rookie Keiland Williams will see the majority of snaps this week as the status of Ryan Torain remains uncertain and is likely a long shot to play this weekend according to Mike Shanahan. James Davis was signed off the Practice Squad and is expected to see a few carries as well.
Thanksgiving Day Games
Detroit vs. New England Noon:
In Detroit, Jahvid Best is barely starter worthy (fantasy wise)at this point in the season. If it weren’t for his pass catching ability he would be a RB4, riding the pine. BenJarvus Green-Ellis is coming off of back to back strong games and the Lions front 7 is more than susceptible to a decent run game. But temper your expectations since at least in most years. The Lions play tough on Thanksgiving. If the Pats happen to be playing from behind then Danny Woodhead could absolutely shred Detroit all day.
New Orleans Vs. Dallas 4:15 P.M.:
In New Orleans Chris Ivory finally got going in the first half scoring a touchdown. Between getting dinged up and not being in playing shape he wasn’t the same in the second half. He has missed some practice time this week but he should be ready to go this week, and will only lose value if Bush is active. I would drop him one or two spots at the most. Dallas continues to try and run their offense through Jones. His hip injury is something that needs to be watched on Thursday.
Cinncinati vs. New York Jets 8:20 P.M.: Benson is coming off of one of his better games this season after facing Buffalo in week 11. The Jets run defense has been good, but they also have been very lucky their last two games winning both in overtime. LDT and Shonn Greene both have the potential to destroy the Bengals defense. The question is who is going to get the meaningful carries?
