How far can Vick lead the Eagles?

Week 10 marks the final week of the dreaded byes.  Although it’s the last bye week, it’s the first that will see three top quarterbacks all being off at the same time.  Some owners will head into Sunday without Brees, Rodgers or Rivers.  It would be a good week to play these teams but most owners probably used your leagues waiver wire to pick up guys like Garrard, Freeman, Hill and Fitzpatrick.  All four will make better than solid replacements this weekend.

Now this is tough for me to say because I’m a dog lover, but how good does Michael Vick look?  Is it me, or does post jail Vick, look a lot better than pre jail Vick?  During Sunday’s game I kept asking myself, how are the Colts going to stop him?  He drops back 12-15 yards then simply flicks his wrist and the ball travels 30-45 yards on an absolute rope.  He’s so quick it’s almost unfair.  I can’t remember ever seeing anyone with his unique physical ability playing quarterback and that includes pre jail Vick.  Funny how these things work.  Maybe Vick could have been this good had he focused all his attention on football and not all those extra curricular activities.  I hope he keeps his act together and re-ups with the Eagles because he’s more than exciting to watch.

1) Peyton Manning – IND – QB, vs. Cincinnati Bengals, Sun 1:00 PM
Peyton continues to produce even though the players around him are dropping like flies. He should have no problem picking apart the banged up Bengals secondary.

2) Eli Manning – NYG – QB, vs. Dallas Cowboys, Sun 4:15 PM
Eli has looked very good over the last few weeks and is poised for a strong second half. He has another plum match up this weekend against a bad Cowboys team. Wide receiver Steve Smith is doubtful, but that shouldn’t hurt Manning’s overall numbers.

3) Michael Vick – PHI – QB, at Washington Redskins, Mon 8:30 PM
How electric did Vick look against the Colts? I don’t remember the last time I saw a quarterback move in the pocket the way he does. I was watching the game thinking, how can they stop him? What has impressed me the most is how strong his arm looks. He’s a special player that will most likely help owners win a title.

4) Kyle Orton – DEN – QB, vs. Kansas City Chiefs, Sun 4:05 PM
Orton is coming off the bye and will has a difficult match up vs. the division rival Chiefs. This is a must win game for the Broncos. If they lose again, what’s stopping them from starting the Tim Tebow era?

5) Ben Roethlisberger – PIT – QB, vs. New England Patriots, Sun 8:20 PM
Big Ben didn’t play as well as I thought he would last weekend. The Steelers took an early lead and didn’t really have Roethlisberger stretch the field. I expect him to post decent overall numbers against a Patriots secondary that made Colt McCoy look good.

6) Tom Brady – NEP – QB, at Pittsburgh Steelers, Sun 8:20 PM
Brady and the Patriots offense have struggled since the departure of Randy Moss. Outside of a banged up Wes Welker, the Patriots don’t have a proven reliable receiver. I think Brady and the Patriots offense will struggle in this game and heading down the stretch.

7) Josh Freeman – TAM – QB, vs. Carolina Panthers, Sun 1:00 PM
Freeman has stepped up his game and has been one of the most exciting players this year. In only his second season he has been able to lead a young Bucs team to a potential playoff spot. He consistently puts up decent numbers and has emerged as a low end QB1 with upside.

It's now or never for Schaub and his owners.

8) Matt Schaub – HOU – QB, at Jacksonville Jaguars, Sun 1:00 PM
If Schaub is going to go off it will probably be this weekend. The Jags have one of the worst secondaries in football and that’s just what he needs to get hot for the second half. If he can’t get it done this weekend Schaub owners should probably consider looking for other options.

9) David Garrard – JAC – QB, vs. Houston Texans, Sun 1:00 PM
Garrard was one of this weeks waiver wire gems. He’s coming off of the best game of his career and has a super solid match up vs a bad Texans defense. Garrard is a fine start this week.

10) Ryan Fitzpatrick – BUF – QB, vs. Detroit Lions, Sun 1:00 PM
Fitzpatrick is another guy who has played well enough to warrant low end

QB1 status. He’s a solid bet for over 40 attempts a game giving him a good opportunity to post solid numbers.

11) Carson Palmer – CIN – QB, at Indianapolis Colts, Sun 1:00 PM
Palmer played well against the Steelers and has another decent match up vs. the Colts. I don’t love him but you probably can’t do much better this weekend.

12) Shaun Hill – DET – QB, at Buffalo Bills, Sun 1:00 PM
Hill gets another chance to start for the Lions. When he started in weeks 2-5 he posted better than average numbers. He’s a solid high end QB2 with upside.

13) Donovan McNabb – WAS – QB, vs. Philadelphia Eagles, Mon 8:30 PM
14) Jay Cutler – CHI – QB, vs. Minnesota Vikings, Sun 1:00 PM
15) Brett Favre – MIN – QB, at Chicago Bears, Sun 1:00 PM
16) Vince Young – TEN – QB, at Miami Dolphins, Sun 1:00 PM
17) Mark Sanchez – NYJ – QB, at Cleveland Browns, Sun 1:00 PM
18) Jon Kitna – DAL – QB, at New York Giants, Sun 4:15 PM
19) Chad Pennington – MIA – QB, vs. Tennessee Titans, Sun 1:00 PM
20) Sam Bradford – STL – QB, at San Francisco 49ers, Sun 4:15 PM
21) Matt Cassel – KAN – QB, at Denver Broncos, Sun 4:05 PM
22) Derek Anderson – ARI – QB, vs. Seattle Seahawks, Sun 4:15 PM
23) Colt McCoy – CLE – QB, vs. New York Jets, Sun 1:00 PM
24) Matt Hasselbeck – SEA – QB, at Arizona Cardinals, Sun 4:15 PM
25) Troy Smith – SFO – QB, vs. St. Louis Rams, Sun 4:15 PM
26) Jimmy Clausen – CAR – QB, at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Sun 1:00 PM
