1ST LOOK: Week 13 Waivers

Posted by in Fantasy Advice on Nov 30th 2010 and last modified on Dec 2nd 2010. (Print This)

With the fantasy playoffs just around the corner owner's of Frank Gore and Adrian Peterson realized the cruel fate that is fantasy football.  In one instance your elite running back can be lost for the season.  If your a Gore owner there is nothing wrong with entering into full fledged panic mode.  As most of you already know Gore was lost for the year after suffering a hip injury on Monday night.  Peterson owners fared a little better as he's set to return this week after suffering what's reported as an ankle sprain. Your league's waiver wire should have been pretty quiet over the last few weeks.  However, this week should be a little different.  Most owner's will be scrambling to pick up Toby Gerhart, Brian Westbrook and Anthony Dixon.  All three backs will make... read more

Who? Ben Obomanu headlined our "Sneaky Play" section from last week. Seeing that he stepped up, we figured it fitting to give him the pictorial. He's a veteran, though you probably never heard of him. He's been a Seahawk for his entire career - drafted in the 7th round in the 2006. He's no stud by any means, but we believe he'll put up respectable WR3 stats until Mike Williams returns from injury. Over the last 3 games he's hauled down 14 passes, for 306 yards and 2 scores. Not bad! Next up, the Carolina Panthers who have been struggling to defend anyone all season. Let me give you fair warning - Obomanu is no lock for production. That being said, you could do far worse when searching for a desperation play. Who will make this week's "Sneaky Play"... read more

Week 13 is upon us.  In 99% of fantasy leagues week 13 symbolizes the final week before playoffs begin.  If you haven't locked up a playoff spot yet and enter the week needing a win, you'll be sure to have a few sleepless nights.  Just remember when your lying in bed steering up at your ceiling.  The anticipation and sleepless nights are why we play and love the game.  Would you rather be the owner who's out of the hunt, but sleeps like a baby?  Me neither.  If your still fighting for a playoff spot enjoy the moment.  Don't over think roster moves this week.  Now isn't the time to get cute.  Start your studs and stick to whats worked all year.  One poor decision can end your season and leave you kicking yourself until next year.  That's a long time to have a pit in... read more

1st Look: Week 13 TE Ranks

Posted by in 1st Look,Rank on Nov 30th 2010 (Print This)

Week 13 could determine the fate for many teams on the bubble this year, both in the fantasy world and in the NFL.  That should make for some exciting football!  It looks as though many of my predictions came true this past weekend, and I hope to repeat that performance once again this week for the brotherhood.   Witten, Pettigrew, and Boss (just to name a few) all had nice games this past weekend.  Hopefully the brotherhoods advice paid you some dividends!  (I know it worked for me!)  Take a peek at the 1st look, and be sure to check back in for the final ranks and writeups later in the week. 1) Jacob Tamme - IND - TE, vs. Dallas... read more

1) Frank Gore - SFO - RB Gore's injury appears to be the most significant one of the weekend. After opening the game with some impressive running, Gore left briefly with what appeared to be a minor injury. He was able to comeback into the game, only to retake the sidelines after one play. Gore remained in pads for most of the game, giving owners optimism. But post game reports are that he's suffered a fractured hip that will put him on the I.R. for the rest of the season. We're still awaiting official team reports. Brian Westbrook got the bulk of the carries and performed very well vs. a porous Zona D. Anthony Dixon provided relief, but saw a much smaller portion of touches. Westbrook looked fresh in his cuts and provided viewers with flashbacks of... read more

It would seem that for some we are entering into unlucky week 13. For most of us we are a week away from the start of our playoff runs. The things that have unfolded in week 12, make week 13 a potential make or break week. Not necessarily because of wins and losses but because of who plays where. Not since week 1 of the NFL season has there been this many unknowns heading into a week let alone a week before the playoffs starts. (Playoffs!?!) Frank Gore reportedly has a broken hip and will be out for the season. Nice news to wake up to this morning if you are a Gore owner. Brian Westbrook becomes a must own in every league, as does Anthony Dixon. Westbrook has the potential to allow an owner to steal a league title.... read more

Fantasy Football Brother's heads into Week 12 and we hope everyone had a safe and Happy Thanksgiving. The slate of games was pretty decent and the best game of the night belonged to the Cowboys and Saints. It will be interesting to see if the Cowboys mail it in for the rest of the season or if they decide to play the role of spoiler. If you haven't taken advantage of our services now is the time as we head towards the fantasy playoffs. You don't want to sacrifice all of your league's riches because you didn't want to pay the price of a six pack at the store. Well some might, but for most of us it's what keeps the better half at bay for another year. The fact that you can show him/her that money can actually be made is priceless. Buy... read more

Week 12: Tight End Rankings

Posted by in 1st Look,Rank on Nov 24th 2010 and last modified on Nov 25th 2010. (Print This)

Week 12 is here, with Turkey and Pigskin's taking center stage. First and foremost, enjoy your Thanksgiving!  This is one of those days to be truly Thankful for all that we have, and to appreciate friends, family, football, and of course those troops that are bustin their butts so that you and I can stay home and enjoy some turkey and football.  The fantasy brotherhood reaches out to each and every one of you to say "Thanks"! As far as the TE's go this week, injuries continue to dominate the discussion.  I can't remember a season where so many TE1's went down to injury?  A few notable guys could be in for Huge weeks, as mentioned in the write-ups.  Tamme leads the way, but Cooley, Pettigrew, and Boss could all have decent games this week.  Then there is Shiancoe, Keller, and Heap who... read more

At first I felt uncomfortable placing Dwayne Bowe in the 1 spot, but when you really look at the stats, there is no way that you can't. He's caught at least one touchdown in each of the last six weeks. During that time span, he's found pay-dirt 10 times. There is no one hotter! With Seattle on the menu, the streak will continue. Atlanta will be forced to pass in order to keep pace with the Pack. Roddy White was relitively quiet last week. We expect a little more noise in what should be a high scoring affair. Calvin Johnson will have a shot at a young Pats secondary. They looked strong early vs. the Colts last week, but showed immaturity and weakness in the second half. Megatron sould be one of the biggest fantasy contributors going forward. Andre... read more

Week 12 RB Ranks & Write Ups (Updated 11/27)

Posted by in Fantasy Advice on Nov 24th 2010 and last modified on Nov 27th 2010. (Print This)

Editor's Note: Fantasy Football Brothers Will Be Releasing Ranks On Wednesday, With An Injury/News Updated Version On Friday. The Week of Thanksgiving is my favorite week of the year (No Offense Christmas.) There is plenty to celebrate between family, friends, football and food. Though you can easily have too much of three out of those four things, you can never have too much football. Before getting down to business, I would just like to share my thanks and appreciation of a few things. I am extremely grateful for all of my fellow Fantasy Brothers. They have absolutely busted their asses this year to make this site, one of the best kept secrets in Fantasy Football. I am grateful for my family and of course my lovely, beautiful girlfriend who not only supports me, but puts up with the 9 month... read more
