Posted by in Fantasy Advice,Free Draft Kit on Aug 31st 2010 and last modified on Sep 1st 2010. (Print This)

This week the brokers from the Brotherhood focus on what stock options are available heading into the 2010 season. Selling before the crash and buying on the cheap can lead to fantasy cash flow. We’ll provide free quotes and offer up-to-date stock analysis on today’s market trends. In Part I of this two edition piece, we’ll explore QBs and RBs. Be sure to tune in tomorrow for WRs and TEs. Aaron Rodgers - GRE - QB RISING: How can he rise any higher? Rodgers has been my No. 1 QB throughout the off-season, but what he's been able to do with his preseason snaps has been down right amazing. The Packer offense looks unstoppable. The offensive line woes of a year ago seem to be remedied. His accuracy is dead on. His completion percentage cannot be matched. Greg Jennings' emergence into... read more

It's that time of year again. We are in the middle of the dog days of summer, training camps across the NFL are breaking and we release our annual rookie RB report. I enjoy writing these more than anything else we do here. The rookies are always the sexiest, because they have so much upside. They potentially mean rebirth for your favorite franchise, a new name to follow and cheer on for the years to come. You secretly hope the franchise savior is not the next Rashaan Salaam. Or for that matter, the seemingly never ending long line of Penn State busts at running back. Yeah I'm talking to you Larry Johnson. The newbies bring... read more

Sleepers & Busts

Posted by in Fantasy Advice on Aug 31st 2010 (Print This)

With most fantasy drafts being held over the next few weeks, you can't help but feel a certain amount of excitement starting to build.  All those endless hours of preparation will finally get put to the test.  One of my favorite parts of any draft is selecting players in the later rounds.  I can't think of a better feeling than unearthing a fantasy gem with a late round flier. To make your job easier we do our Sleepers and Busts a little different.  We cover all 32 teams and identify multiple players who we feel could have a fantasy impact.  The fact is, we've become very good at identifying these players.  Last year we recommended taking fliers on Miles Austin, Sidney Rice, Jermichael Finley and Jamaal Charles to name a few.  If you happened to land two of these... read more

Fantasy Football Brothers Mailbag Part Two

Posted by in Fantasy Advice on Aug 26th 2010 and last modified on Aug 27th 2010. (Print This)

Fantasy Football owner's there are only two weekends left for your fantasy football drafts. The start of the NFL season is less than two weeks away and the Brotherhood is ready to rock. Our free draft kit is out and we are constantly updating our ranks and information. On top of our ranks we have questions and there have been a ton of them this month.  Note to our readers come September 6th only subscribing members will be able to use our Q & A all football season long. Don't get left out in the cold.  As always the names have been changed to protect the innocent and the spelling and grammar will make your 9th grade English teacher cringe. Sorry Mrs. Edwards! Question From:Ken Question: Who should I pick up as a replacement... read more

Fantasy football owners are looking to gain an edge any way they can.  We know that every bit of knowledge and information can be the key to fantasy success.  Our goal is to provide fantasy owners with as much relevant information as possible.  With that being said, offensive line rankings can be an important tool in fantasy football.  We know that a teams offensive success is directly tied to the offensive line.  Your stud running back isn't going to rush for 1,300 yards unless the boys upfront create enough space for him.  The same is true for quarterbacks and wide outs.  The ultimate success of these players is directly tied to the o-line.  How can Brees stand in the pocket and pick apart a secondary if defenders are hounding him all afternoon?  He can't. We created these ranking to help you identify the top offensive lines in the league. 1. New Orleans... read more

TOP 240: Kickers & Defenses Not Included

Posted by in Rank,Ranks,Top 200 on Aug 26th 2010 and last modified on Sep 2nd 2010. (Print This)

A top 200 ranking is an essential tool that every fantasy owner should use to help dominate their draft.  It helps owners gauge a players overall value instead of his positional value.  As usual, we went a little bit deeper and ranked the top 240 players.  We feel it was important to rank every player that could become relevant at some point during the season.  I left out defenses and kickers because my colleague Rob has already covered them extensively in his positional write ups.  We will continue to update these rankings as the season approaches. Top 240 1) Chris Johnson - TEN - RB 2) Adrian Peterson - MIN - RB 3) Maurice Jones-Drew - JAC - RB 4) Ray Rice - BAL - RB 5) Frank Gore - SFO - RB 6) Andre Johnson - HOU - WR 7) Aaron Rodgers - GRE - QB 8) Michael Turner - ATL - RB 9) Drew Brees - NOR -... read more

The defensive units in college football have seen a huge shift. Yes, the Ohio St. Buckeyes remain number one just like recent years, but the teams down the rest of the ranks haven't been there in quite some time. Many are new to the fantasy ranks such as teams like Temple and Rutgers. A team like Florida will need to reload, as they were decimated by losses on the defensive side of the ball as they lost six starters, that doesn't mean they lack talent though. They are a team that could rise up these ranks. Ohio St. returns a formidable group that is anchored by DL Cameron Heyward and DT Dexter Larimore up front. The Buckeyes return last season's leading tackler in OLB Ross Homan and together with MLB Brian Rolle form a top notch unit. Keep an eye on OLB Etienne Sabino who is a... read more

2010 Fantasy Playoffs Strength of Schedule

The Number One Ranked Fantasy Defense

A strength of schedule ranking is an underrated and valuable tool that can help fantasy managers gain an edge over other owners.  Although I wouldn't plan my entire draft strategy around one, it can help when it comes to making difficult decisions.  For instance, If I'm having trouble deciding between Ahmad Bradshaw and Arian Foster in the 6th round, I might select Bradshaw because Foster faces one of the more difficult schedules this year. The problem with a strength of schedule ranking, is that it is based off of last years overall results.  We know that some NFL teams are going to exceed expectations and be much better than any of us thought they would be.  We also know that some teams are going to fail to live up to their pre-season ranking.  Like most fantasy rankings, it's... read more
