Congrats If You Were Able To Grab On To Austin Miles This Year

Here we are in Week 17. If your reading this, you’re most likely in your fantasy championship. Unfortunately for you, your leagues goes right up until Week 17. Playing to the very end has it’s disadvantages. True, it extends your enjoyment an other week, but playoff considerations, sitting players and injuries all begin to take it’s toll on your line-up. There is nothing more frustrating than drafting a contender, performing well all year, just to have your studs sit come playoff time. Colt owners were the first to feel the wrath this week, as coach Caldwell decided it was time to protect his players rather than their undefeated hopes. It’s a harsh reality, but the NFL does not revolve around fantasy football. At this point in the season, you have more to lose than half the players you own. This type of schedule can often result in the best team not winning your league. How your league is run should be open to debate. You should consider calling Spring meetings prior to your draft to discuss rules and regulations that need to be voted upon. This should be atop of the priority list. Enough about that.. Let’s get to the Wide-Outs.

The NFC is still up for grabs. The only solidified spot is the one seed which was clinched by the Saints after the Vikings loss last night. The two seed is up in the air. Minny, Philly, Dallas and Arizona all have a shot to land the two seed. This bodes well for fantasy owners, for these teams still have something to play for. If Minnesota clinches the two seed, Arizona will likely rest their starters who have the four o’clock game.

The AFC picture is a little clearer. Indy has clinched home field throughout. The Chargers have clinched a first round bye. Cincy locked down the AFC North and the Patriots have won the AFC East.  Baltimore, New York, Denver, Pittsburgh, Houston, Jacksonville and Miami all still have a chance.

Devin Hester’s injury has had a silver lining named Devin Aromashudu. He’s been a journey man in his first few seasons but looks to have found a home in Chicago. The Bears have been in void of play-maker in the passing game. Aromashudu provides more of a prototypical target for Jay Cutler. It’s sad that it took a Devin Hester injury to get the raw talent on the field. Cutler has been begging all season to get him more playing time. In the last three weeks, Cutler targeted his new toy 31 times. During that stretch, Aromashudu pulled down 17 catches, for 236 yards and 2 scores. He’ll have another solid opportunity to produce as the Bears will travel to Detroit to face the last ranked passing defense in the league.

Everyone’s status will need to be monitored to see if there are any surprise inactives, or benchings. Come check us out tomorrow at the GameCenter. Start your guys that are definitely going to play and be very wary of those who might not.
