Dallas Clark Led All TEs With 100 Receptions To Go Along With His 1,106 Yards And 10 TDs

Last week we released our 1ST LOOK 2010 positional dynasty rankings.  We’ll start this week off by wrapping up our ranks with the tight ends.  Tight ends are usually an afterthought in fantasy football and especially in dynasty leagues.  It’s not that the position is less important than any of the others; it’s the fact that most fantasy leagues only require you to start one.  It’s simply all about supply and demand.  A larger emphasis is put on wide receivers, running backs and quarterbacks.  With a premium put on these positions it’s easy to see why tight ends lose significant value when it’s time to select your keepers.  There is no need to use one of your important keeper slots on a player who plays a position that more often than not offers value well past the top 12.  In fact there’s a good chance tight ends like Vernon Davis, Brent Celek, Heath Miller and Jermichael Finley were available on most leagues waiver wires at some point during the season.  Unless your league rules state that you must hold on to one, I probably wouldn’t.  I would much rather take a chance on a younger player at a premium position.  However, that doesn’t mean the position doesn’t offer value.  I would strongly consider and recommend keeping elite guys like Dallas Clark and Vernon Davis.  Players who have the opportunity to produce like wide receivers any given week.

We created these rankings to show how we value the tight ends this year and into the future.

As always feel free to write in and ask any questions you have regarding your team.  It’s always helpful to bounce ideas off people who love talking football.
