If you havent noticed we have switched gears from fantasy football and have moved on to our second season and our other passion. The NFL draft. The draft symbolizes renewal for all 32 teams and it is the one day of the year that every football fan can walk away feeling like a winner. For all of our readers that are new to the Draft we unleash our Fantasy Football Brothers' primer to get you ready for the 2010 draft. Every few weeks leading up to the draft we will update these profiles, adding some new players and possibly dropping players who's value has fallen. The 2010 NFL Draft is drawing near. The College Juniors have declared for the Draft and the slots are pretty much set. The NFL Draft is a crapshoot at best and many Mock Drafts are filled with tales of fantasies and not on a team's need. There are alot of "sexy" picks made by draft pundits and the flavor of the week this week happens to be Jimmy Clausen taking over the top spot in alot of Mock Drafts. While I see this as a possibility because the St. Louis Rams have a need at quarterback, why would it be Clausen and not Sam Bradford who could have gone as the number one quarterback last year? Last week we released our 1ST LOOK 2010 positional dynasty rankings. We’ll start this week off by wrapping up our ranks with the tight ends. Tight ends are usually an afterthought in fantasy football and especially in dynasty leagues. It’s not that the position is less important than any of the others; it’s the fact that most fantasy leagues only require you to start one. It’s simply all about supply and demand. Dynasty leagues are a whole other ball game. You're running an organization for not just the "now", but for the future as well. Fantasy becomes more like reality as GMs are forced to consider outside of the current season. A mix of steady vets, mid-year "primers" and some diaper dandies make for the perfect blend for continued relevance. Buying on the cheap, selling before the crash and seeing production before it happens is all part of fantasy success. Key Wide-Out Questions Heading Into 2010: Who's #1? The NFL playoffs are in full swing and almost all of the fantasy seasons are done with until next year. Unless of course you are one of the lucky ones that participates in a keeper league or a dynasty league. We take our first crack at the dynasty ranks this week with the second installment of positional dynasty ranks. (Monday QBs,Friday WRs and TEs the 1/27) Today we take our 1ST LOOK at the running backs. There are a million things that will happen between now and the start of next season. With the wild card round in the rear view mirror, we can look forward to this weekends divisional match ups. The tight end position is stacked at that top but thins out very quickly after the first four options. We know what we're getting out of Dallas Clark. He is the unquestioned top option for tight ends and a threat to post gaudy numbers every time he steps on the field. He is the only guy in these ranks that I totally trust. He's in a tier all by himself. The second tier starts with Gates. He is a safe and consistent option at a position that is as important as any other in fantasy football. With the wild card round in the rear view mirror now, we're left with eight teams battling for divisional supremacy. The eight teams left leave us with a healthy batch of quarterbacks entering different paths in their careers. As many as four are destined for the hall of fame and will look to continue building there legacy. Two are striving to take the next step in an attempt to move into the top tier while the last two guys are simply out to make a name for themselves. With the Wild Card weekend behind us we rock on to the Divisional playoff weekend. The weekend was filled with some painful games to watch if you are a Patriots,Bengals or Eagles fan. The best game of the weekend and of the entire season for that matter was the crazy game between the Packers and Cardinals. The game was a shootout from the beginning with the Packers overcoming a 17 point deficit and bringing the game into overtime with a fluke fumble returned by the Cardinals defense for a touchdown that ended the game. The game saw 96 total points scored 1,024 total yards between both teams and 9 total touchdowns thrown. This weekend the Cardinals head to the Superdome in New Orleans in a game that... read more

The NFL has changed into a passing league. More and more teams are turning to shot-gun, 3 wide receiver set formations. Minnesota, New Orleans, Indy and Zona are the four best spread offenses in the league. They are super saturated with play-makers and more frequently than not, line up in 3 WR sets. Play-maker saturation leads to target dilution, but none of these squads will be playing an overly imposing defense. Divisional week should be an aerial show. The Green Bay vs. Arizona battle was one of the best playoff games the league has ever seen. Expect continued fireworks in the Divisional Match-Ups. New Orleans vs. Arizona: We expect little defense in this one. New Orleans has done well all season in keeping opposing passer's stats down, but they will have much difficulty with Kurt Warner. Fantasy Football Brothers has shifted gears to focus on the NFL Playoffs. Many fantasy owners are somewhat new to the Playoff Leagues, but it is something that is challenging and keeps the fantasy season going for those of you that missed out on a championship. As my colleague stated in an earlier post, "It let's me watch an NFL game knowing I have that player in my starting lineup."
