F.F.B.s top QB in Week 16.
If your reading this then you’re either playing for a championship or you’re a week away from fantasy glory. This is the week to pay attention to what the coaches are saying. We need to know if certain players are going to rest or play sparingly. Check your waivers and look for those free agents who have solid match ups this week and could help your team in a pinch. We’re not sure how the Colts are going to use Peyton Manning, if you own him have a backup plan in place just in case. The Colts have locked up everything in the AFC, unless they’re shooting for perfection this could very well be the week Manning only plays a half. It’s worth noting that some of our top QB’s have very friendly match ups. Brees, Brady, Rodgers, Warner, Rivers and Schaub should all be considered plus plays this week. Also pay attention to the QB 2′s. Some have very favorable match ups and could be stronger plays than a couple of the low end QB1′s. Flacco, Favre, Romo and McNabb all face above average pass defenses this weekend, but are probably to good to sit. Someone to consider is Alex Smith. He hasn’t played that well lately, but has a decent chance to produce vs the Lions. Good luck to all and check back in for our daily updates.

WELCOME TO THE BROTHERHOOD!
1) Drew Brees – NOR – QB, vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Sun 1:00 PM
It’s week 16 and we couldn’t ask for a better match-up for the Saints. I know Tampa is ranked 8th in the league defending the pass, but a big part of that is simply because teams elect to run on them. That’s not New Orleans style. Look for Brees to fling it all over the field and bring you home a title.
2) Aaron Rodgers – GRE – QB, vs. Seattle Seahawks, Sun 1:00 PM
Like Brees, Rodgers has a great match-up this weekend. The Seahawks are ranked 28th in the league defending the pass. Green Bay thrives in the passing game so expect a monster day from Mr.Rodgers.
3) Matt Schaub – HOU – QB, at Miami Dolphins, Sun 1:00 PM
I thought Schaub was gonna go off last weekend vs the Rams. He didn’t produce monster numbers but he was good enough to finish near the top for the week. Expect another solid outing against Miami and there 22nd ranked pass defense.
4) Kurt Warner – ARI – QB, vs. St. Louis Rams, Sun 4:05 PM
We’ve received a lot of questions this week regarding Warner’s lack of production against inferior opponents. My recommendation would be to ride him again this weekend. The Rams are ranked 21st in the league defending the pass. You don’t want him on your bench when he decides to go off.
5) Tom Brady – NEP – QB, vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, Sun 1:00 PM
Brady has been average over the last couple of weeks failing to throw for over 200 yards in both games. Expect a bounce back performance this weekend vs the Jags. The Jags are ranked 26th in the league defending the pass. It’s a great match-up for the Patriots passing game to get back on track.
6) Philip Rivers – SDC – QB, at Tennessee Titans, Fri 7:30 PM
Rivers had a solid performance last weekend vs a very good Bengals defense. On tap Friday night is a bout vs the Titans and there 30th ranked pass defense. The Titans have been better defending the pass as of late, but it wont matter much against the Chargers. Rivers is a great option this weekend.
7) Peyton Manning – IND – QB, vs. New York Jets, Sun 4:15 PM
I don’t know what to do with Peyton this weekend. This is the lowest I’ve ranked him all year and I was close to dropping him out of the top 12. Will he play the entire game? The Jets are ranked 1st defending the pass and have the best secondary in football. Garcon is banged up and Wayne will almost certainly be taken out of the game. Maybe not by the coaching staff, but because Darell Revis will shut him down. It’s a recipe for disaster for fantasy owners. If you have a better option, I would consider rolling with it this weekend.
8) Tony Romo – DAL – QB, at Washington Redskins, Sun 8:20 PM
Romo has been playing solid football over the last couple of weeks. He has a difficult match-up this weekend against the 5th ranked pass defense, but he should be able to post decent enough numbers.
9) Donovan McNabb – PHI – QB, vs. Denver Broncos, Sun 1:00 PM
McNabb and the Eagles have been playing good football over the last month. Unfortunately, we should taper our expectations a little this weekend vs the 2nd ranked Bengals pass defense. On the bright side, Phillip Rivers was able to put up 300 yards and 3 scores. McNabb is a solid QB1 play.
10) Ben Roethlisberger – PIT – QB, vs. Baltimore Ravens, Sun 1:00 PM
Big Ben threw for over 500 yards vs a very good Packers secondary. Things are only going to get more difficult this weekend vs the Ravens who rank 6th in the league defending the pass. Regardless, Roethlisberger remains a solid QB1.
11) Brett Favre – MIN – QB, at Chicago Bears, Mon 8:30 PM
Favre has exhibited the same late season swoon that engulfed him last year. He needs to snap out of it soon if the Vikings are serious about making a run at the Superbowl. The Vikings play the Bears and there 7th ranked pass defense on Monday night in Chicago. I like Favre, but if you have a stronger option go with it.
12) Joe Flacco – BAL – QB, at Pittsburgh Steelers, Sun 1:00 PM
Flacco has weathered a tough season and has shown resolve. However, he hasn’t emerged as an elite fantasy option just yet. This weekend is another difficult test vs the Steelers who rank 17th defending the pass. Flacco is a low end QB1 play.
13) Eli Manning – NYG – QB, vs. Carolina Panthers, Sun 1:00 PM
Eli had a strong performance vs a solid Skins secondary. He’ll be tested again this weekend vs a red hot Panthers secondary who rank 5 th in the league defending the pass.
14) Alex Smith – SFO – QB, vs. Detroit Lions, Sun 4:05 PM
Smith is an intriguing option this weekend vs the lowly Lions and there 31st ranked pass defense. However, it should be known that Smith hasn’t exactly been hot. In the last two games he hasn’t thrown for 200 yards and has racked up 5 interceptions. He’s nothing more than a high end QB2.
15) Vince Young – TEN – QB, vs. San Diego Chargers, Fri 7:30 PM
Young is another intriguing option, but shouldn’t be considered anything more than a QB2. The Chargers rank 13th in the league defending the pass.
16) Carson Palmer – CIN – QB, vs. Kansas City Chiefs, Sun 1:00 PM
Palmer could have a chance to produce decent numbers vs a Chiefs team that ranks 18th in the league defending the pass.
17) David Garrard – JAC – QB, at New England Patriots, Sun 1:00 PM
Garrard has played good football at times this year. He has another opportunity to produce decent numbers vs the Patriots. However, as bad as the Pats have been at times they still rank 9th in the league defending the pass.
18) Chad Henne – MIA – QB, vs. Houston Texans, Sun 1:00 PM
Henne is another guy I like as QB2 this weekend. Houston is ranked 12th in the league defending the pass. It’s worth noting that they have been susceptible at times throughout the year and Henne has been hot. Over the last three weeks his yardage totals have been very good but he still turns the ball over way to much.
19) Kyle Orton – DEN – QB, at Philadelphia Eagles, Sun 1:00 PM
I like Orton as low end QB2 this weekend vs a good Eagles team who rank 14th against the pass. Orton is a safe option but hasn’t been able to produce in the redzone.
20) Jason Campbell – WAS – QB, vs. Dallas Cowboys, Sun 8:20 PM
Campbell got the crap kicked out of him Monday night. Things might be the same this weekend vs a hungry Cowboys team. Campbell could again have a difficult outing.
21) Matt Hasselbeck – SEA – QB, at Green Bay Packers, Sun 1:00 PM
Hasselbeck and the rest of the Hawks have been playing bad football. Things wont get any easier this weekend when they travel to Green Bay. The Pack rank 11th in the league defending the pass but have been better than the ranking indicates. Hass is a non play this weekend.
22) Matt Moore – CAR – QB, at New York Giants, Sun 1:00 PM
Moore played very good football against a solid Vikings team. The Panthers are hot and Moore has shown us a little something. He’s a low end QB2 vs the Giants and there ferocious pass rush.
23) Jay Cutler – CHI – QB, vs. Minnesota Vikings, Mon 8:30 PM
Cutler has been bad, and the Bears look horrible on offense. The Vikings rank 16th in the league defending the pass so Cutler should be in for another long outing.
24) Matt Cassel – KAN – QB, at Cincinnati Bengals, Sun 1:00 PM
Cassel has a tough match-up vs the Bengals and there 15th ranked pass defense. He’s a low end QB2 this weekend.
25) Matt Ryan – ATL – QB, vs. Buffalo Bills, Sun 1:00 PM
Ryan has a chance to get back on track this weekend. However, the Bills are ranked 3rd in the league defending the pass so expectations should be tapered. I know this was a lost season for Ryan in a lot of ways, but we kind of saw it coming. The Falcons overachieved last year and came into the season with a very difficult schedule. Add in the injuries and it made for a perfect storm. Don’t sleep on Ryan next. He will be good and so wont the Falcons. He’s still one of the more polished signal callers to enter the league in a long time.
26) Mark Sanchez – NYJ – QB, at Indianapolis Colts, Sun 4:15 PM
Sanchez shows signs of being a franchise quarterback on one play then make a horrible read and throws a pick on the next. He has a lot of growing to do in the off season.
27) Derek Anderson – CLE – QB, vs. Oakland Raiders, Sun 1:00 PM
Anderson takes over for Brady Quinn as the Browns starting quarterback. That’s all I have to say about that.
28) Josh Freeman – TAM – QB, at New Orleans Saints, Sun 1:00 PM
Freeman showed us a little something vs the Hawks. However, it might not be enough vs a Saints Defense that’s sure to come out fired up.
29) Brian Brohm – BUF – QB, at Atlanta Falcons, Sun 1:00 PM
The Brain Brohm era finally begins in Buffalo. I didn’t even know he was on the team. True story, my cousin and fake fantasy guru made a bet with my brother, the chief editor for Fantasy Football Brothers, that Brian Brohm would be more successful than Matt Ryan. Yikes! The sad part is I don’t think he ever payed up.
