Brees faces Carolina's topped ranked pass defense.

Brees faces Carolina's topped ranked pass defense.

Friday here at Fantasy Football Brothers means final ranks.  The quarterback position has proven to be one of the deepest and most productive this year.  The emergence of Aaron Rodgers, Phillip Rivers and Matt Schaub have given owners consistent production and have narrowed the gap between themselves and the elite.  Ben Roethlisberger has been a pleasant surprise for fantasy owners who took him in the mid rounds.  The Steelers brass have handed him the reins to the offense and it should be on display this weekend in Denver.  Joe Flacco is another guy who has outperformed his draft slot and have proven to be a top 12 quarterback.  Carson Palmer looked like the quarterback from years past in his week 7 thumping over the Bears.  Has he finally knocked the rust off after missing most of last year and the preseason?  This week will hopefully provide us with the answer we’re looking for.  Donovan McNabb has played solid football as of late, and has a chance to cement himself as a top flight weekly option against the Cowboys.  Eli Manning and Matt Ryan have been two quarterbacks who have gone in opposite direction.  After a hot start both signal callers have struggled to put up decent fantasy numbers.  Is this the week they turn things around?  Another interesting story to watch for this weekend is the sudden emergence of two former top 5 draft picks.  Alex Smith and Vince young have a chance to rebound and finally shake the bust label that has been haunting them for the last few years.  They’ll face off this weekend in San Francisco.

1) Peyton Manning – IND – QB
Last week was the first time this season that Manning failed to throw a touchdown pass. However, he did manage to throw for 347 yards in the win. This week the Colts host the Texans. Manning should be able to pick apart the struggling Houston secondary. He wont go without a touchdown pass in this one.

2) Tom Brady – NEP – QB
The Patriots come off the bye week to host the division rival Dolphins. Brady says he feels as good as he as ever felt at this point in the season and it shows. He was one of the most productive quarterbacks in the league for the month of October and there’s no reason to believe that wont continue going forward.

3) Aaron Rodgers – GRE – QB
After a slow first half Rodgers came out in the third quarter and showed us what he’s capable of. He threw for 287 yards with 3 TD’s and no interceptions. He now has 14 TD passes to only 2 interceptions. He’s also one of the best in the league at creating plays with his feet. Against the Vikes he carried 5 times for 53 yards. This weekend the Pack have a very favorable match up against Tampa Bay. Look for another big day from Rodgers.

4) Philip Rivers – SDC – QB
Rivers continued his solid play last weekend against the Raiders. He threw for 249 yards with 1 TD and 1 interception as the Chargers focused on running the ball. This weekend the Chargers travel to New York to face the slumping Giants. Expect another solid outing from Rivers.

5) Drew Brees – NOR – QB
Brees completed 75% of his passes for 308 yards with 2 TD’s and 1 int. Monday night against the Falcons. Brees continues to be one of the steadiest quarterbacks in football and he’ll need to be this weekend against the Panthers and there topped ranked pass defense. Not that you would, but don’t keep him on your bench this Sunday.

6) Matt Schaub – HOU – QB
Schaub threw for 268 with 0 TD’s and 2 interceptions against the stingy Bills pass defense. Don’t get down on Schaub just yet, he’s been one of the most productive quarterbacks in football. He has another solid test this weekend when Houston travels to Indianapolis to play the Colts. This one has the potential to be a shootout giving Schaub plenty of opportunities to throw.

7) Tony Romo – DAL – QB
Romo has been one of the hottest quarterbacks in football. In his last three games he has thrown for 918 yards with 8 TD’s and ZERO interceptions. Let’s see if he can keep it going this weekend against the the division rival Eagles. The games in Philly so Romo will have his work cut out for him. Look for him to rely heavily on tight end Jason Witten.

8) Ben Roethlisberger – PIT – QB
The Steelers come off the bye to play the Broncos in Denver. Big Ben has been one of the biggest surprises throughout fantasy football this season. He has emerged as a top weekly option and I see that continuing going forward. Look for the Steelers to copy what the Ravens did last weekend when they handed the Broncos there first loss of the Season. We should see plenty of no huddle and Roethlisberger throwing early and often in this one.

9) Joe Flacco – BAL – QB
Flacco completed 80% of his passes for 175 yards and 1 TD. He was very efficient in the win over the previously unbeaten Broncos. This weekend the Ravens will travel to Cincinnati to face the Bengals. The Bengals are coming off the bye so we can expect them to be ready for Flacco and the Ravens. Expect a solid but not spectacular day out of the second year man.

10) Donovan McNabb – PHI – QB
McNabb has been playing good football lately. Last week he threw for 240 yards and 3 TD’s in a win over the Giants. He would have thrown for more yards but the game was over at half time. Look for McNabb to stay hot at home this weekend against the Cowboys and there 22nd ranked pass defense.

11) Jay Cutler – CHI – QB
Cutler hasn’t played his best football as of late. He’s been forcing to many throws that have led to 6 interception in his last three games. The Bears are going to attempt to dial down the playbook in hopes of simplifying the offense. I can’t tell if this is a good thing or not. Only time will tell. Cutler has a decent match up this weekend at home against Arizona.

12) Kurt Warner – ARI – QB
Warner attempted 46 passes while throwing for 248 yards with 2 TD’s and a ridiculous 5 interception. That’s more than Rodgers(2) or Peyton Manning(4) have thrown all year. The good thing about Warner is that he doesn’t carry poor outings with him. Last week is already behind him. This week the Cards travel to Chicago to take on the Bears. Look for a bounce back performance even though he’ll probably be without Anquan Boldin in this one. Warner is a borderline QB1 this week.

13) Carson Palmer – CIN – QB
Before the bye week Palmer torched the Bears completing 83% of his passes for 233 yards and 5 TD’s. I hope that is a sign of things to come. We’ll certainly get a better idea after this weekend when the Bengals host the Ravens. This will be a solid test to see if Palmer has completely knocked the rust off after missing most of last year and the preseason.

14) Matt Hasselbeck – SEA – QB
Hasselbeck has been limited in practice all week. I wouldn’t worry about him issing time the Seahawks are just being careful. I think this is something we’ll see throughout the rest of the season. Hasselbeck is a solid play against the lowly lions pass defense.

15) Matt Ryan – ATL – QB
Ryan struggled again on Monday night. He only completed 45% of his passes for 289 yards with 1 TD and 3 interception. This week the Falcons host the Redskins. I could see Ryan struggling in this one as well. The Skins are better than average on defense and are coming off the bye.

16) Eli Manning – NYG – QB
Eli and the Giants have been struggling after a hot start. He hasn’t completed over 52% of his passes in any of his last three games. This weekend the Giants host San Diego who have struggled at times to defend the pass. I still wouldn’t rely on Eli this weekend. The Giants have a much needed bye in week 10 to try and right the ship. Keep him on your bench till after the bye week.

17) Alex Smith – SFO – QB
The 49ers let Smith throw 32 times against the Colts. Although he only threw for 198 yards it shows the confidence the coaching staff has in him. The 49ers are at home against the Titans who have struggled to defend the pass. You probably have better options but Smith makes an ok play if your in a bind.

18) Jason Campbell – WAS – QB
The Skins come off the bye and will travel down to Atalanta to face the Falcons. Washington has been a complete mess this season and I only see that continuing going forward. Campbell has been able to provide fantasy owners with a couple decent starts but not much else. This isn’t a bad week to use him if your desperate.

19) Kyle Orton – DEN – QB
I expected more out of Orton last weekend. 152 yards with 0 TD’s isn’t going to cut it. This weekend the they’ll host the Steelers who are coming off the bye. I would look else for a quarterback this weekend.

20) David Garrard – JAC – QB
Garrard continues to struggle. He has failed to throw a touchdown in three strait games and has 4 interceptions in the last two. He shouldn’t be considered a fantasy option until he proves capable of string together a couple solid starts.

21) Matt Cassel – KAN – QB
This week the Chiefs will travel down to Jacksonville to face the Jags. Although the Jags defense has struggled all year, I wouldn’t recommend using the struggling Cassel in this one.

22) Chad Henne – MIA – QB
Henne threw for 112 yards with 1 TD against the Jets. He hasn’t been asked to do much but hand the ball off and manage the game. It works for the Dolphins but not fantasy owners. With a tilt against the division rival Patriots up next you should avoid using Henne.

23) Matthew Stafford – DET – QB
Stafford returned from his knee injury last week in a loss to the lowly Rams. He only completed 42% of his passes 168 yards with 1 TD adn 1 interception. Lion fans are already calling for his head. With a cross country trip against Seattle this weekend, I would avoid using Stafford.

24) Vince Young – TEN – QB
VY returned to the field last weekend for the first time in over a year and a half. He wasn’t asked to do much but what he did do he did well. He completed 83% of his passes for 125 yards and 1 TD. He also added 30 yards on 12 carries. If Young plays weel against a tough 49ers defense then he’s worth a roster a sopt.

25) Jake Delhomme – CAR – QB
Delhomme practiced in full this week and is expected to start against the Saints. I wouldn’t recommend using him unless your desperate.
