What Is AP Worth In A Trade You Ask?
Now that the Thursday night games are upon us the Brotherhood has called an audible with our schedule. We have added the Thursday night game preview and moved it to Wednesday, and have moved our Mailbag to Thursday. We select our questions at random out of our mailbag database. We try and get everyone’s questions published but the good news is we answer every question asked. Most league trade deadlines are upon us, and with news of Dwayne Bowe out for four games, and Ronnie Brown is down for the year in what seems like an every year occurrence. Owners have been burning up the waiver wires since Julius Jones, Michael Turner, Cedric Benson and Ronnie went down and we are always here to help. Have a Question? The Brotherhood is here to help and you could be part of next weeks mailbag. As always the names have been changed, but the spelling and grammar have not.

Trent,
Thank you for the question, I like trade offer #1 as you are getting two studs in MJD and Johnson and only giving up one in A.P. Jennings has underperformed this year and you are getting great value in return for him. Trade offer #2 I do not like, Vernon Davis and the 49ers have appeared to hit a wall offensively and LeSean McCoy is the main back in Philly with Westbrook’s health status. You also have Jason Witten, while he is struggling look for his numbers to return to Witten type numbers as Miles Austin falls back to earth. Again I like offer #1 alot, offer #2 I would recommend not doing. Good luck in week 11, hope this helps with your decision. Take care.

After a 7 game win streak i came out of week 10 with over an over all poor performance and idiotic decision to start Heath Miller over Brent Celic, and have subsequently fallen from 1st to 2nd place with a 7-3 record and am leading the league with 1018 total points. I have won 1st place two years running and am not about to let the THREE-PEAT get away from me! Therefore i need to re think my team and have some questions for you if you don’t mind. Our league is NOT a PPR league. 1 pt per 10 yds, 6pts per TD, 1 pt per 25 pass yds.
Here is my team:
Aaron Rodgers
Greg Jennings- ( Pooper scooper)
Miles Austin
Mike-sims walker
Ray Rice
Thomas Jones
Brent Celic
Bench:
Lee Evans
Hakeem Nicks
Brandon Jacobs
Heath Miller
Questions:
Is Greg Jennings going to continue to SHIT the bed!? Is it worth holding on to him or trying to get rid of him for say… Anquan Boldin, if possible?
Is Miles Austin going to continue to perform freakishly retarded 50 yard TDs?? Do i continue to start him? And is he worth starting week 11?
Do you think Brandon Jacobs is going to start producing like the (slow) work horse he is? Do i even think about starting him over Thomas Jones in week 11?
And lastly who do you predict is going to have a break out second half of the season who i should consider attempting to trade for before the trade deadline hits?
Thanks for you time, hopefully you can guide me to a 3rd straight victory and drive the other league owners into a deep apathy!
Best,
Duke

Jennings should rebound, but it really comes down to the Packers O-line not being able to protect Rodgers enought to buy him time to take advantage of Jennings long-ball potential. Last week Boldin was the target in our trade discussions. If you have the chance to land him I’d do it. People have quickly forgot how dominant a fantasy factor Q was last season. The Zona offense appears to finally be clicking. He should be in for a solid stretch run.
Second, Miles Austin has been quieted after exploding onto the scene. He’s drawn coverage from Asanthe Samuel and the combination of Rodgers and Harris in the last two outings. This week Austin will face a Washington pass defense that was absolutely torched by Brandon Marshall last week. I expect him to have a nice bounce back game.
Third, The BYE week should bode well for all Giant players, but Tommy Jones warrants the start.
Fourth: Some worthy trade targets: Boldin, Megatron, Brandon Marshall (as long as Orton’s alright), Welker (there is not an other player in the game who is immune to match-ups), Steve Smith NYG (remains one of the most targeted WRs in the game), Beanie Wells (very friendly playoff schedule, Mendenhall (but your backs look solid), and if you did not already own him I’d tell you to go after Celek.
And last but not least – Brent Celek is the real deal. He’s scored in three straight outings and remains the Eagles most consistent play-maker on offense. Start him over Miller each and every week until proven otherwise. He’s been a Brotherhood favorite since we dropped our draft kit. Play him with confidence.
Hope that this helps.
Good Luck this week. Lock down the three-peat – no one will ever eclipse it.

we start a QB, 2 RBs, 3WRs … rush receive 10yds/pt, 6pts/TD…
Toss up between Tomlinson and Ricky Williams… Thinking of going with Ricky since I also start Vincent Jax and Kneading… Kind of becomes a Charger heavy team if I have 3 of them starting…
On the WR front… I have been starting Vincent Jax, Colston, Driver on a regular basis. I also have Collie and DeSean Jax on the bench. Is this the week to sit Vincent Jackson and start DeSean…
- F.F.B. Shaun
Aaron,
I’d roll with Ricky Williams over Tomlinson this week. True, LDT is coming of his best game of the season, but Williams has outproduced him all season long and should continue to do so again on Thursday night. The Wild Cat will not vanish just because Brown is out. Look for Pat White and Ricky to split specialty snaps. Carolina is susceptable to large ground games which was exemplified last week by Turner and Snelling. Williams will be the focal point of Miami’s attack.
Looking at your wide-outs, I like Colston vs. the Bucs, DeSean vs. the Bears and V-Jack vs. the Broncos. Our 1ST LOOK WR RANKS have all three in the top 11. Driver has been impressive this season and should once again continue to defy Father Time this weekend vs. the Niners. V-Jack will draw Champ Bailey in coverage which should stiffle some of his production. He’s only been held out of the end-zone three times all season. In his last meeting vs. Champ, he put up 4 catches for 46 yards and a score. Jackson is coming off his worst outing of the season where he was held to a measly 1 catch for 10 yards with Asanthe Samuels blanketing him. Look for him to rebound.
Driver will be going up against the 29th ranked San Fran Passing Defense. He has continuously out-produced his Packer counterpart Greg Jennings. Jacksons rank could drop a couple of spots and Drivers will most likely climb by weeks end. I’m expecting similar production. VJack is the better bet to score, but Driver will most likely put up more yardage and catches. DeSean and Colston are a go. When it boils down to Driver or Jackson its honestly a coin flip. I rarely play the fence on a call but it looks to be that close. You have the depth at WR to gamble. VJack has the higher upside and has the ability to put up multiple scores. When it comes down to a call this close, upside is what usually tilts the scales. I’d roll with Jackson for now, but be sure to check in for our final ranks and write ups that drop each and every Friday to assist with your final preparations.

I have a trade question… I have Schaub riding the bench behind Brees and probably wont play Schaub the rest of the season given the Saints soft schedule (barring any injuries…). We start 2 RB and 2 WR and a TE. I am pretty strong at WR with Wayne and V Jackson but at RB have Thomas Jones who has a good schedule, Bradshaw who has been hit or miss, and Westbrook who may be done for the season. Should I hold Schaub and try to stick with what I have and maybe pickup Forsett or Snelling or Scott? Or there are two teams that need QB’s…
One team is stacked at RB with S Jackson, R Mendenhall, and B Jacobs (only start 2)… but hs Hasselback as starter. I’m 6-4 and he is 5-5 on the season.
The other team has C Palmer, MJD, Pierre Thomas, Beanie Wells. I doubt if he will trade Pierre Thomas but think it may be worth a try given the soft schedule.
A) Should I trade Schaub
B) Would you shoot for Jackson, Mendenhall, or Jacobs? Or I suppose possibly P Thomas though unlikely.
I have a hard time taking Jackson since they suck so bad but he has performed well. Mendenhall has some good matchups ahead…
Thanks,
Jen

Hey Jen,
Thanks for the question. While I agree that Snelling, or Forsett are decent short term answers and yes you should pick them up Snelling first and then Forsett. You do have a valuable commodity in the form of an elite QB. He won’t score you points on the bench, so you might as well trade him for someone that will, I tell all our readers that depth doesn’t win championships your starters do. I would go after these RB’s in this order, MJD,Mendenhall,Jackson after that you need to get more in return for an elite QB, possibly asking for a QB in return to shore up your QB spot in case of an injury to Brees. I hope this helps, and feel free to ask follow up questions.
Welcome to the Brotherhood.

Im sorta in a sticky situation right now with turner going down. and i really need some advice because if you come in last place in our league u get dressed up and im really close.. i need some advice on who you would start from my team.. hopefully you have some suggestions.. the thing that kinda stinks is that everyone is almost the same player on my team but hopefully you can help
-Point per reception league as well
qb- romo, favre, hassleback (2 QB league)
rb- hightower, cadillac, LT, turner (2 rb’s)
wr- ocho, holmes, maclin, crabtree (3 wr’s)
te- vernon davis, witten (1ight end)
also should i drop turner?
Thank you so much
- F.F.B.Shaun
Tim,
First off you need to hold onto Turner. He’s reportingly rehabbing well and has the possibility of returning next week. In reality he’s probably looking at missing two games, but in no way should you drop him. If your in last place, then you should be high on the waiver list. Make sure you go and land Jason Snelling. He’s a capable runner, can handle goal-line work, and can surprisingly catch the ball well out of the backfield. He put up decent numbers this week vs. the G-Men, but could have a very strong outing next week vs. the Bucs.
Looking at your roster options I’d advise to roll with Favre and Romo
RBs: LT and Snelling if you land him, if not go with Caddy
WR: Ocho, Holmes and Maclin
TE: Davis
Hope that this helps.
Hang in there and play the Spoiler.
