This week the focus will be on Matt Forte and Steve Slaton. Two first round backs who have yet to live up to the lofty expectations that so many of us had when we drafted them. This will be a true test to see what we can expect going forward. Another couple of backs that we’re curious about are Clinton Portis and rookie Glenn Coffee. Portis has showed very little so far this year and needs to prove he can still do it against a weak Tampa defense. Coffee on the other hand represents youth and excitement. We expect his coming out party this week against the defensively challenged Rams.

1) Adrian Peterson – MIN – RB
Big game with Green Bay, but A.P. doesn’t care. This game will have about 500 Brett Favre stories told during the telecast and now no one cares.
2) Maurice Jones-Drew – JAC – RB
Tennessee was supposed to be a stout defense, but they are turning into a bi-polar unit: ”we’re good, we’re not, we’re good…” - you know where this is heading. I’m going with MJD shredding the Titans

Chris Johnson is sure to have a BIG game vs. a porous Jacksonville Defense.
3) Chris Johnson – TEN – RB
Speaking of Tennessee, how long before Titan’s fans call for “gulp” V.Y.?
4) Matt Forte – CHI – RB
The perfect match-up for the struggling Forte. Now if he get’s shut down again this week can we have an official “There’s something wrong here” discussion. I mean, he’s either hurt, a one year wonder, the offensive line is actually just that bad, or it’s the play calling. I think I’d fall under the Forte’s hurt camp.
5) Cedric Benson – CIN – RB
Benson has quietly had a terrific first 3 weeks, and with a game against the Browns, this will turn into a terrific month.
6) Ronnie Brown – MIA – RB
I like Brown this week, 100 yards and a touchdown sound good against the Bills.
7) Brandon Jacobs – NYG – RB
Jacobs is starting to get going and the momentum should continue with a game against the Chiefs. He has commented on his frustration with his current yards per carry. He’s sworn to retire after the season if it doesn’t improve. Expect that number to jump this week vs. and inferior Kansas City team. Keep an eye out for Bradshaw’s status.
8) Steven Jackson – STL – RB
S.Jack has been the only thing that is working in St.Louis, I wonder what the Kyle Boller era will bring to the Rams?
9) Glen Coffee – SFO – RB
Coffee is playing the Rams on a run-first team. Is this too easy? I hope this isn’t a giant setup game.
10) Steve Slaton – HOU – RB
Slaton seemed to get going a little bit last week, this team will be very scary once they are firing on all cylinders offensively.
11) Clinton Portis – WAS – RB
Portis has another great opponent to run all over, but his health is uncertain. He should shred the super struggling Bucs, but then again anything is possible. Right Detroit?
12) Pierre Thomas – NOR – RB
Thomas showed fantasy nation why he was the Fantasy Football Brothers not so quiet sleeper pick. We knew Thomas would play like this all along and we’re glad to see him back on the field.
13) Fred Jackson – BUF – RB
I know the coaches have been saying 50-50 split of carries, the problem is that is usually coach speak for next week. As a Lynch owner in a few leagues who drafted him very low, I can’t wait to see him back on the field. I do know that Jackson has been a beast in Lynch’s absence.
14) Darren McFadden – OAK – RB
McFadden has a great chance to get back on track, the problem is will the rest of the offense? It’s a shame that the Raiders and Tampa don’t meet up. I’d love to see who’s offense is actually worst.
15) Ryan Grant – GRE – RB
Grant has a tough matchup against a stout Vikes run defense.
16) Willis McGahee – BAL – RB
6 TDs in 3 games, tough match up against the Pats, but McGahee is playing with a fire lit under his a$$
17) Julius Jones – SEA – RB
Is there anyone that gets less respect than Jones? He has had one bad game, but has still managed to score in all 3 starts. Buy low people, even when he is playing hi.
18) Thomas Jones – NYJ – RB
Jones has struggled as opposing defenses are forcing the Jets to the air. Look for this the Saints to employ the same scheme.
19) Tashard Choice – DAL – RB
Like I said about Choice – great player wrong team. He’d really would start for five other franchises. Move him up 5 spots if MBIII is out.
20) Willie Parker – PIT – RB
Willie P. finally breaks out in week 3 which must mean he has Turf Toe this week. We will keep an eye this one.
21) LaDainian Tomlinson – SDC – RB
Not exactly the best team to be coming back against.
22) Joseph Addai – IND – RB
Diagnosing who is getting the ball when and for how much is the absolute worst. Even Addai doesn’t know his role. A decent match up this week for the Colts against the Seahawks.
23) Correll Buckhalter – DEN – RB
Buchalter has received virtually zero pub, but has done more with less carries 7.4 y.p.c. than any back in the NFL, all the while under the shadow of rookie RB Knowshon Moreno.
24) Marion Barber – DAL – RB
MBIII if he plays - He should put up decent numbers, but I’m not sure about him, after all he did go down like he was shot two weeks ago. So that means he either mailed it in because he felt a twinge, or he really is hurt and will not play this weekend. Yeah I called him out.
25) Larry Johnson – KAN – RB
K.C. has had a brutal month of tough match-ups culminating with a visit from the Giants. LJ looks slow and will eventually lose touches to Charles.
26) Ray Rice – BAL – RB
I’ve got a new movie idea for Ray Rice. It’s called the Rong Raven starring Ray Rice. It’s a movie/mocumentary about frustrated fantasy owners and how they ,yell, scream, throw tantrums every sunday since the 1st quarter of the first game. The sequel can be about the owners who actually own McGahee but never start him.
27) Jerome Harrison – CLE – RB
Now Harrison has a better chance this week against the Bengals after decent performace vs. a tough Raven D in week 3.
28) Darren Sproles – SDC – RB
Sproles will get lots of playing time against Pitt as the Steelers will force the Chargers to the air.
29) Knowshon Moreno – DEN – RB
Moreno is getting more playing time, but has not played like the better back.
30) Leon Washington – NYJ – RB
The Jets will likely use more Washington if they can’t establish the run.
31) Maurice Morris – DET – RB
Kevin Smith is likely out, and I’m glad the Lions won, now on to another losing streak.
32) Reggie Bush – NOR – RB
Bush only has value in P.P.R. leagues. Simply put = He sucks as a runner.
33) Ricky Williams – MIA – RB
Williams continues to defy the laws of science and plays in the perfect complimentary role to Ronnie Brown in the Dolphins offense
34) Fred Taylor – NEP – RB
I expect the New England to struggle with the Ravens front 7 this week forcing the Pats to the air. Did someone say Kevin Faulk?
35) James Davis – CLE – RB
If Davis play’s well, he could over take Lewis on the depth chart.
36) Marshawn Lynch – BUF – RB
Lynch couldn’t have come back soon enough. I slept on him in a few drafts, but F.Jackson’s play has scared me a little bit. I hope Marshawn isn’t too rusty.
37) Michael Robinson – SFO – RB
Robinson is the 2nd stringer this week, and likely the goal line guy. Are you paying attention TD Only league guys?
38) Donald Brown – IND – RB
Brown is going to be a good one, the problem is there are not enough touches for either back since the Colts have been throwing a ton.
39) Ahmad Bradshaw – NYG – RB
Bradshaw was a surprise visitor to the injury report, we are watching this one. Move him up 10-15 spots in what is a tasty match up against K.C. if he’s healthy.
40) LenDale White – TEN – RB
LenDale needs to get going, but that is hard to do when you are never on the field. What a complete turn around from this year – to last for all of the Titans.
41) Michael Bush – OAK – RB
Bush has played like the better back, but just can’t seem to unseat McFadden.
42) Derrick Ward – TAM – RB
Ward is on well on the way to not playing.
43) Cadillac Williams – TAM – RB
Cadillac is likely to start
44) Rashard Mendenhall – PIT – RB
Move him up 20 spots if Willie P. is out.
45) Earnest Graham – TAM – RB
Graham will likely be 2nd string if Ward can’t go on Sunday.
46) Kevin Faulk – NEP – RB
Faulk might be on the field a bunch if the Pats can’t run on the Ravens. Bump him way up in P.P.R. leagues.
47) Laurence Maroney – NEP – RB
Maroney translated is Dr. Jekyll, and Mr. Hyde
48) Chester Taylor – MIN – RB
Taylor leads the Vikings in receptions, but hasn’t done much as a runner.
49) Mewelde Moore – PIT – RB
If Parker is out Moore gets a big bump up, I still don’t like Mendenhall.
50) Justin Forsett – SEA – RB
Forsett continues to get little playing time when the Seahawks are playing well, but he seems to have moved to the back up spot.
51) Lynell Hamilton – NOR – RB
Hamilton played decently, but with the Pierre show back, Hamilton has little value
52) Jamaal Charles – KAN – RB
My co-worker here thinks it is only a matter of time before Charles is starting. I said so why was he inactive two weeks ago?
53) Bernard Scott – CIN – RB
How many owners are starting to realize they reached for Scott. There is no one to blame except Hard Knocks
54) Edgerrin James – SEA – RB
55) Jamal Lewis – CLE – RB
OUT
56) Mike Bell – NOR – RB
OUT
57) Felix Jones – DAL – RB
OUT
58) Kevin Smith – DET – RB
OUT
