1) Drew Brees – NOR – QB
Brees looked very sharp to open the season. He shredded the Lions to the tune of 358 yards and 6 TD’s. He faces a much better secondary this week in the Eagles so keep your expectations in check. Regardless of the opponent Brees will put up very good numbers.

2) Tom Brady – NEP – QB
Brady threw 53 times for 378 yards and 2 TD’s in a wild Monday night comeback win over the Bills. This week the Pats travel to New York to face a very good Jets defense. Brady looked off at times in the first half but managed to pull it all together when it mattered most. Expect the Jets to come at him with everything they can.

3) Peyton Manning – IND – QB
Manning showed why he has the nick name Mr. Consistent. In the win against the Jags he passed for 301 yards and 1 TD. Despite losing wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez early in the game, Manning still managed to spread the ball around and make plays in the clutch. He is a safe and reliable option week in and week out. He should be able to put up big numbers against the Dolphins on Monday night.

4) Aaron Rodgers – GRE – QB
Rodgers was having a below average night before his 50 yard touchdown pass to Greg Jennings. He finished the game with 184 yards and the one touchdown. Although this wasn’t the game we expected form Rodgers he was able to limit his mistakes and pull out the win. Rodgers will bounce back this week against the Bengals.

5) Tony Romo – DAL – QB
Terrell Owens who? Romo passed for 351 and 3 TD’s in a win against Tampa Bay. He was decisive with the ball and it showed. He had passing touchdowns of 80, 66 and 42 yards to three different receivers. However, I wouldn’t go over board with expectations because of this game. Romo played very well but Tampa Bay made several mistakes in coverage. Romo and the Cowboys will face a very tough Giants pass rush this week. If he gets enough time to throw he could have a good day because the Giants are banged up in the secondary. Romo said his ankle is fine, so I wouldn’t be worried.

6) Matt Ryan – ATL – QB
Ryan passed for 229 yards and 2 TD’s in a win against the Dolphins. Ryan could have had an even better day if he didn’t over shoot his receivers on a couple of deep balls. Ryan will be called upon to throw more this year with teams focusing on stopping the run. Ryan should have a good game at home against the Panthers.

7) Philip Rivers – SDC – QB
Rivers struggled to stay on his feet during the Chargers Monday night win over the Raiders. Despite poor line play up front he managed 242 yards and 1 TD. With Tomlinson walking with a boot on Wednesday, I would expect Rivers to throw early and often against the Ravens.

8) Ben Roethlisberger – PIT – QB
Big Ben threw 43 times for 363 yards and 1 TD. He also tossed two interceptions in the overtime win against the Titans. The Steelers had to call the big guys number so many times because they could not get the ground game going. They travel to Chicago this week so look for him to air it out again if they can’t run.

9) Kurt Warner – ARI – QB
Warner and the Cards looked very mediocre against the 49ers. Warner did manage to throw for 288 yards and 1 TD in the loss. He also tossed 2 interceptions and was hit constantly from a relentless pass rush. The Cards face a poor Jacksonville secondary this week so expect a solid performance.

10) Matt Hasselbeck – SEA – QB
Hasselbeck threw for 279 and 3 TD’s against the Rams. He also tossed 2 picks in the win. Seattle travels to San Francisco this week to face a decent 49ers secondary. The offense looks better with the addition of T.J. Houshmandzadeh and a healthy Nate Burleson. Hasselbeck is a good low end QB1 this week.

11) Carson Palmer – CIN – QB
Palmer passed for 247 yards with 0 TD’s and 2 interceptions in a loss to the Broncos. He did manage to drive the Bengals down the field late in the 4th quarter for the go ahead score. Only to suffer a heart breaking loss on a miracle finish. Unfortunately life wont get any easier for Palmer and co this week when they travel to Green Bay.

12) Jay Cutler – CHI – QB
Cutler threw 277 yards and 1 TD in a loss to the Packers. He also tossed a whopping 4 interceptions and had at least two others dropped by the Packers secondary. With Pittsburgh up next, we can only hope that the poor game was a testament to the lack of time spent with his receivers. This week will be a good gauge to see if the Bears offense can bounce back.

13) Matt Schaub – HOU – QB
Schaub and the Texans looked bad in there week one loss to the Jets. He managed only 188 yards with 1 interception. He was under a constant pass rush and was never able to get in a rhythm. The Texans will have to travel to Tennessee this week to face a very stout Titans defense. I would recommend sitting the Schaub if you have a better option.

14) Joe Flacco – BAL – QB
Flacco threw the ball 41 times for 307 yards 3 TD’s and 1 interception in a win against the Chiefs. The Ravens travel to San Diego this week to face a Chargers team that looked lost at times against a sub-par Oakland passing attack. Look for Flacco to build on his early success this week.

15) Eli Manning – NYG – QB
Eli spread the ball around and looked very comfortable doing it against the Skins. He passed for 256 yards 1 TD and 1 Int. The Giants called more passing plays than running plays and Eli responded in good fashion. The Giants travel to Dallas this week so Eli should have another productive day.

16) Trent Edwards – BUF – QB
Edwards looked good in a heart breaking loss to the Patriots on Monday night. He threw for 212 yards and 2 TD’s. Edwards should have another good outing against a poor Tampa secondary.

17) David Garrard – JAC – QB
Garrard managed to throw for a paltry 122 yards against the Colts. He didn’t throw a touchdown or an interception but offered very little play making ability. With Arizona up next the Jags should look to establish the passing game.

18) Jason Campbell – WAS – QB
Campbell and the Skins couldn’t get anything going against a good Giants team. He had 211 yards 1 TD and 1 int. Campbell should put up solid numbers against a bad Rams secondary.

19) Kerry Collins – TEN – QB
Collins threw for 244 yards 1 TD and 1 int against the Steelers. The Titans look like they could have a much more balanced attack this year. Collins remains a safe but unspectacular QB2 option.

20) Mark Sanchez – NYJ – QB
The rookie threw for 272 yards 1TD and 1 int. in a win over the Texans. Sanchez has the Patriots next, so we should get a good idea of the rookies progress.

21) Shaun Hill – SFO – QB
Hill continues to rise as a solid sleeper option this year. He should become more relevant when the bye weeks begin.

22) Brett Favre – MIN – QB
Favre didn’t do much in a win against the Browns but hand the ball off to all world running back Adrian Peterson. Keep Favre on your bench until he gets into game shape.

23) Chad Pennington – MIA – QB
Pennington passed for 176 yards 1 TD and 1 Int in a loss to the Falcons. Pennington was unable to get the ball down field to open receivers throughout the day. The Dolphins have Indianapolis this week so Chad will probably have to throw to keep up with the Colts. He should stay on your bench.

24) Matt Cassel – KAN – QB
Cassel looked good in practice on Wednesday. Until he does it in a game he should stay on your bench.

25) Kyle Orton – DEN – QB
I like Orton’s potential in the Denver offense. Monitor his weekly progress to see if he can build a chemistry with Eddie Royal and Brandon Marshall. He could become a good bye week fill in.
