Fantasy Football Brothers releases our second edition of our fantasy player projections for Week 3. The reader response was strong and we received some positive and negative feedback. But mostly positive. We hope you enjoyed last week's projections and hope they helped you to win your fantasy matchups in Week 2. While we missed on some: Who would have thought Matt Schaub would have chosen the week two matchup to show up? Or that Tennessee's defense would decide to take the weekend off. Our projections are not tied to our ranks, as we try and give you the reader as many looks and scenarios as possible in the fantasy game. We are here to help you dominate your league, keep you three steps ahead of the rest of the league, answer your tough questions, and help you win your league. So with all of that out of the way let's get to the... read more

Fantasy Football Brothers prepares you for week 3. Running games across the NFL have suprisingly struggled in the early part of this season. Teams that have predicated their success around a strong run game have been forced to all but abandon the run, and go to the air. The Bears,Giants, Falcons, and Steelers all teams that were very successful last year running the ball, have seen a dramatic difference this year. Opposing defenses have sold out to stop the run, and the run blocking for all of the above teams has gone from above average to down right hideous. These teams long term success hinges on having a strong run game. Look for all of these teams to continue to try and run the ball. Because if not this will be a very long season for fantasy owners, and the fans of those teams. 1) Adrian Peterson - MIN - RB A.P. was shut down with only 92 yards... read more

1) Drew Brees - NOR - QB Brees continues to produce at a record breaking pace. He has already thrown for 696 yards and 9 touchdowns. The Saints travel to Buffalo to take a on a Bills team that has struggled against the pass. The only thing that can stop Brees is the weather. With a 50% chance of rain, Brees could be held to under 300 yards passing. 2) Peyton Manning - IND - QB Manning was flat out awesome against the Dolphins. In just 15 minutes he managed to throw for 303 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Monday night win. Manning should be able to exploit an Arizona secondary that has been susceptible against the pass. 3) Philip Rivers - SDC - QB Rivers was 25-45 for a whopping 436 yards with 2 TD's and 2 interceptions in a loss to the Ravens. The... read more

  1) Andre Johnson - HOU - WR Welcome back! Andre Johnson sits atop our ranks where he belongs. After being shut-down by Darrelle Revis in week one, AJ bounced back and exposed what was thought to be a legit Tennessee secondary.  Houston will continue to turn to the air as the running game struggles. Schaub appears to have gotten back on track. The Jags secondary will be exposed and Andre will be in for another huge day. 2) Steve Smith - CAR - WR Smith leads the league in targets. Delhomme's job is on the line. He'll get a heavy dose again this week and should find pay-dirt. 3) Larry Fitzgerald - ARI - WR Fitz is frustrated with his number of deep targets. Expect Warner to pacify his stud. Ask and you shall receive. Fitz makes it three games straight that he sees the end-zone. 4) Randy Moss - NEP - WR Moss will rebound after being completely... read more

A Question Of Loyalty

We are all fans of football. Week in and week out we cheer for our home teams, but being a fantasy fan is a little different. Teams that you would never pay attention to, now have you flicking back and forth from your hometown squad, in search of fantasy highlights. Players that you did not even know existed, you now know their name, number, stats, hometown, favorite food, zodiac sign, hobbies etc... You spend just as much time watching the silly ticker at the bottom of the screen as you do the game that's playing. As fantasy owners you learn to wear the two hats of being a home town supporter, and also a ruthless fantasy GM. We have all had that uncomfortable feeling when one of our fantasy studs is going up against our home team. The best case scenario is that your player goes off, but your home team... read more

As fantasy explodes onto the scene in September, the focus is always on the top 10 or 20 guys by position.  Everyone is aware on draft day of these “so called” studs and their average draft position (ADP).  Interestingly enough, the guys and the positions that can make the biggest difference from week to week are usually left unmentioned and undrafted in most leagues, give or take a few rookies with super high expectations.  Hence the need for articles related to “Hot Waiver Moves” on a weekly basis.  Sure some of these guys emerge onto the scene almost unnoticed, such as WR Johnny Knox and WR Julian Edelman this past week, but are they really worth a spot on your roster?  Too often we're looking for the next big thing and we let all of the “real opportunities” pass us by!             Here’s my advice and it has won me... read more

Fantasy Brothers will be venturing into some of the more muddled backfields to try an make sense of who's leading the pack, who's falling out of favor and who may be your best fantasy option come game day. Our first trip takes us to Oakland. First off, I need to start by saying Al Davis is a disgrace to football. Secondly, JaMarcus Russell is the worst starting quarterback in the history of the NFL. In two games this season, Russell has thrown just 19 completions on 54 attempts with one touchdown, and two interceptions. That being said, the Raiders were seconds away from upsetting the Chargers in week one, and are now 1 -1 after a week two victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. One part in Oakland's success has been an improved defense. The second has been the development of a legitimate running back tandem. Through two weeks, Darren McFadden and Michael Bush have been the only bright spots in... read more

McGahee has become the RB waiver hero two weeks in a row

Fantasy Football Brothers takes a 1ST Look at the Waiver Wire. As you all know Working the Waiver Wire can make or break a team. It's hard to always identify talent that can impact an NFL game, but more importantly also impact your fantasy team. We have commentary on each player, but also in parentheses our recommendation for what each players value is. This is not only advice for this week, but also an advance scouting report for guys that are beginning to emerge in this early season. The guys that could in fact impact your team later on in the season, whether its a week away of two months away we will keep you ahead of the curve, and identify the players that will win you your league. Running Backs Willis McGahee - BAL - RB McGahee... read more

Here’s our first look at Week 3 Tight End Ranks. In Week 2:  Dallas Clark showed is value as Mannings go to guy.  Witten continued his dominance of the TE position, and several of our top 10 found paydirt!  How do the TE's rank for Week 3? Let’s take a look:    1) Dallas Clark - IND - TE 2) Jason Witten - DAL - TE 3) Tony Gonzalez - ATL - TE 4) Chris Cooley - WAS - TE 5) John Carlson - SEA - TE 6) Antonio Gates - SDC - TE 7) Todd Heap - BAL - TE 8) Heath Miller - PIT - TE 9) Greg Olsen - CHI - TE 10) Dustin Keller - NYJ - TE 11) Kellen Winslow - TAM - TE 12) Brent Celek - PHI - TE 13) Zach Miller - OAK - TE 14) Visanthe Shiancoe - MIN - TE 15) Tony Scheffler - DEN - TE 16) Owen Daniels - HOU - TE 17) Jeremy Shockey - NOR - TE 18)... read more
