As we come to the end of May,  we release our latest QB rankings. Questions abound around the NFL at the Quarterback spot. Who is going to start in Detroit, Oakland, Tampa, Cleveland, Jets, and Minnesota? My rankings were not very popular around the office this week, starting with where I have Brady ranked. But as I reminded my partners in crime, these are only the May rankings and I base my rankings on where I would draft each player Now, not come August. Let me know what you think about these rankings. Bill@fantasybrothers.com

1) Drew Brees – NOR – QB
No one threw more times, or for more passing yards… Look for the trend to continue

2) Peyton Manning – IND – QB
Mr. Consistent… Always good for 3,500+ yards 25+ Touchdowns

3) Kurt Warner – ARI – QB
High powered dynamic pass offense… Question is what’s going to happen with Anquan Boldin?

4) Philip Rivers – SDC – QB
Does more with less considering who are his receivers, add in a LDT on the schnide, and that means look for Rivers to keep on chucking

5) Aaron Rodgers – GRE – QB
Great season last year despite a poor run game… Outstanding wide receivers are plentiful for Rodgers to throw to

6) Tom Brady – NEP – QB
He’s Back!!! Brady also has weapons galore, but until he proves he is a 100% I will keep him outside the top 5 despite the amount of crap I am getting around the office for this ranking. It’s May people!!!!

7) Tony Romo – DAL – QB
No more T.O. means no more headaches… Will it translate to great numbers though?

8) Donovan McNabb – PHI – QB
When on the field no one does more with less

9) Matt Ryan – ATL – QB
Breakout year candidate with another piece of the puzzle added in the form of TE Tony Gonzalez…. Probably too high at 9

10) Kyle Orton – DEN – QB
Orton had a great stretch throwing towards the end of the season, with better weapons to throw to you have got to love his potential…. I know I do

11) Matt Schaub – HOU – QB
When healthy Schaub puts up good numbers, but he has yet to play a full season

12) Carson Palmer – CIN – QB
No WR T.J. Houshmanzadeh, no problem, there is still no run game to speak of look for Palmer to chuck the rock a bunch while playing catch up in a tough division

13) Eli Manning – NYG – QB
The loss of WR Plaxico Burress could be huge, one of the young receivers needs to step up big in his place

14) Jay Cutler – CHI – QB
Culter goes from a pass happy attack, to a ball control offense, Cutler’s numbers will suffer add in very little in the way of help at receiver and this situation could be a statistical nightmare

15) Matt Hasselbeck – SEA – QB
Hasslebeck needs to be healthy in order for the Seahawks to be successful… Hasslebecks’ health is to be determined

16) Ben Roethlisberger – PIT – QB
Big Ben was highly over rated last year due to his high TD passing numbers in 07, but came back to earth in 08. Big Ben is a safe pick, but just does not get enough passing attempts in this run first offense

17) David Garrard – JAC – QB
Garrard took a beating last year due to the devastation of his offensive line. The offensive line has been rebuilt and looks pretty decent, look for Garrard’s numbers to be solid in 09

18) Jake Delhomme – CAR – QB
Delhomme’s numbers were brutal towards the end of the season… The Panthers showed faith in the off season by extending his contract… Look for a rebound year

19) Matt Cassel – KAN – QB
Cassel was a break player last year for N.E., and was stolen for a 2nd round pick in the off season by K.C…. Cassel will have less to work with this year, and his numbers will likely suffer as a result

20) Trent Edwards – BUF – QB
Edwards has shown promise in small spurts but is always injured and banged up… The addition of T.O. will take away the constant double team WR Lee Evans constantly faced last year, but does that help Edwards stay healthy?

21) Joe Flacco – BAL – QB
Flacco played the role of game manager perfectly in his rookie year… Look for more offensive output from the second year player despite the lack of depth at receiver

22) Jason Campbell – WAS – QB
Which Campbell will show up? The great confident first half Campbell, or the struggling 2nd half Campbell that the Skins looked to dump in the off season?

23) Marc Bulger – STL – QB
Bulger is playing on bad team with a poor supporting cast this isn’t your fathers Greatest Show on Turf Rams anymore… Outside of WR Donnie Avery the cupboard is bare

24) Sage Rosenfels – MIN – QB
Rosefels could enter sleeper status in Minnesota… Head Coach Brad Childress needs to realize Tavaris Jackson is not the answer, and QB Brett Favre really just needs to retire with some dignity… Rosefels did well filling in for Schaub while with the Texans, and there is some decent help at receiver for the Vikes

25) Brady Quinn – CLE – QB
Quinn is the early leader so far in the off season, but that could change… If Quinn keeps the job, and WR Braylon Edwards does stay, and plays to his potential…. Quinn could have value as a 2nd qb drafted, but that is a lot of ifs

26) Kerry Collins – TEN – QB
Great game manager lousy fantasy Quarterback

27) Daunte Culpepper – DET – QB
Looks to be the early leader, in a potentially sneaky good offense

28) Jeff Garcia – OAK – QB
Let’s face it Russell sucks, and Garcia always ends up the starter everywhere he goes

29) Shaun Hill – SFO – QB
Someone needs to be the QB, and if Alex Smith hasn’t been able to win in the last 4 years what makes this year any different?

30) Chad Pennington – MIA – QB
When you draft a QB in the 2nd round to run the Wildcat Offense your QB must be Popgun Pennington

31) Luke McCown – TAM – QB
The leading candidate to start in what could be a decent team offensively

32) Byron Leftwich – TAM – QB
Could beat out McCown, has a plus arm to make all the throws, and more than enough experience to beat out the youngster.

33) JaMarcus Russell – OAK – QB
Two words: Bust and Undraftable

34) Kellen Clemens – NYJ – QB
The early leader with experience

35) Matthew Stafford – DET – QB
Stafford has the arm, and a decent offense being built in Detroit, the question is does Stafford have “it”?

36) Derek Anderson – CLE – QB
He was a huge waiver wire pick up two years ago, will history repeat it self?

37) Mark Sanchez – NYJ – QB
The J-E-T-S fans will be calling for Sanchez to start by the end of the first quarter in the first Pre-Season game

Let me know what you think about these rankings. Bill@fantasybrothers.com
