May QB Rankings

Posted by admin in Fantasy Advice,Quarterbacks,Ranks on May 29th 2009 and last modified on Jun 1st 2009. (Print This)

As we come to the end of May,  we release our latest QB rankings. Questions abound around the NFL at the Quarterback spot. Who is going to start in Detroit, Oakland, Tampa, Cleveland, Jets, and Minnesota? My rankings were not very popular around the office this week, starting with where I have Brady ranked. But as I reminded my partners in crime, these are only the May rankings and I base my rankings on where I would draft each player Now, not come August. Let me know what you think about these rankings. Bill@fantasybrothers.com 1) Drew Brees - NOR - QB No one threw more times, or for more passing yards... Look for the trend to continue 2) Peyton Manning - IND - QB Mr. Consistent... Always good for 3,500+ yards 25+ Touchdowns 3) Kurt Warner - ARI - QB High powered dynamic pass offense... Question is what's going to happen with Anquan Boldin? 4) Philip... read more

If you want to win your league set up shop with us. Don't forget we are FREE! There once was a time when a touchdown determined the outcome of a fantasy match-up. It was a simple contest, and you could do the math in your head as you watched the games on Sunday and Monday night. Your studs found the endzone, and no one cared about the defensive corner who missed a tackle and let your RB go rumbling for 39.5yds for the score. Ahh.... The Good O'le Days!! Unfortunately, those days have since past, and now... read more

"In case most of you haven't noticed, and judging by the attendance you haven't"--Harry Doyle in Major League, there is a changing of the guard going on in the NFL, a renaissance period, an era of enlightenment. The young bucks are taking over from the vets, and no longer is the top of the draft , or the first round for that matter etched in stone. Just when we thought we had it all figured out, with heated arguments about the top five backs (Adrian Peterson, LaDainian Tomlinson,... read more

May TE Rankings

Posted by admin in Tight Ends on May 18th 2009 and last modified on May 29th 2009. (Print This)

1) Antonio Gates - SDC - TE Look for Gates to be healthy, and productive in 2009. Although he is getting older, his red zone looks will continue, and his hands are still as good as ever. 2) Jason Witten - DAL - TE He's still a stud, but without T.O. to distract the defense, he should get more double coverage. Romo will still look his way, but it will be tough yardage. I also think he is overdue for an injury, so keep that in mind when you reach for him early in the draft. 3) Tony Gonzalez - KAN - TE Gonzo came back to life in 2008 with 10TD's!! He should continue to be a force in Atlanta with Matt Ryan hurling the rock, but his numbers may suffer with Turner and the rest of Atlanta's talented offense stealing yards and touches. I still anticipate that he will get red zone looks,... read more

A Change of Pace

Posted by Sean in Fantasy Advice on May 13th 2009 (Print This)

Third down backs are anything but. The little runners of the league made a big impact in 08.  Once thought to be specialists, too small or slight for the NFL – the “Rudy” runners of the league are showing people otherwise. The playmaking ability of these athletes cannot be denied. Coordinators are becoming creative in adjusting their schemes in order to get the ball into these player’s hands. Could they handle a 20 carry load week in and week out? – probably not, but teams aren’t asking them to do so. These players don’t need 20 touches to make an impact. They are game changers who have the ability to take to the house at any moment. Whether it be as a runner, receiver, or special teams player coaches are finding more and more excuses to get the ball in their hands. Positional job descriptions have changed. Teams now value... read more

Don't forget we are FREE! I Never Thought That I Would Like Someone Named Pierre After the release of Deuce McAllister by the New Orleans Saints, many thought that the team would continue to neglect their deficits on defense and draft a rookie runner with their first pick in 09.  The Saints did the smart thing and selected the top defensive back in this years draft - Malcom Jenkins. New Orleans continued with this pattern throughout the draft, staying on the defensive side of the ball. This is good news for Pierre Thomas whos end of the season hot streak... read more
